My position hasn't changed. I've never seen a frontwide Soviet offensive.

I think you're using selective vision then...  [:'(]

look at Q-Ball v Tarhunnas AAR

Also, I can tell you this happened to me in both my human vs human games as axis! No AARs for them, but it did happen because it was traumatic for me. I've since learn to just do an organized retreat and try and get the ground back in the summer of 42. It's a hard pill to swallow, but the axis troops will be just to weak to do much of anything in the winter, unless in a good town, city or urban. Just the facts, I didn't make the game, just play it. So don't hate on me [:D]

So if you want to keep believing that no Soviet players do a front-wise offensives, then I think you're in denial.

Well that seems kind of selfish? So when the game doesn't go well you decide to just quit? So with that level of logic maybe some of your opponents that are not doing well should just quit too? I would suggest you rethink, because I will make sure to let people know what type of a player in game you are if you just decide to quit when you feel like it. That's rude and it will be out of respect for the community to post a warning to others before they play with you that you may decide to quit just because you think it's not 'fun'?

Do you really think I would have bother spending all the time I did on playing a game with you if I thought you would just decide to quit AS SOON AS the winter hit and you didn't like how blizzard was on the axis????

Really? I think you owe me more than this. Once again I caution you from just quitting as I will make sure to let others know your reputation as logic for starting games that normally last more than a few week. You are an adult are you not?

My reply:
I play games to have fun. This game is not and has not been fun.

Your tone and threatening me is unacceptable. Please do not contact me again.

Is it only fun when you're winning?  You seemed to play about that long...

I think, from the Axis perspective, this game is akin to the Kobayashi Maru.

Well, you are entitled to have your suspicions - you can still send the saves to the dev. But until then, I do believe you would have been better off surrendering instead of "quitting" (because, from here, it looks like it's not the way you introduced your decision to him, am I wrong?)

Surrendering isn't a shame. In the best case he bested you, in the worst one he cheated but then you can give yourself the means to check on that. In the meantime, least thing to do would be to admit defeat, my two cents. Admitting defeat won't prevent you from finding new opponents - but behaving like you did (especially if the feeling that you may accuse of cheating any competent opponent persists while you can't provide a proof of it) will.

I'll post no further on this now, waste of my time. But of course I did admit defeat. Crushing defeat to be precise.

Its an online computer game that is constantly updating and changing. I really do not get upset when people quit or surrender. In many cases they either have good reason to because of the game changes or I have opened a can of whoop ass [:D]

I really do need to trust my instincts.

if you feel that the game has been corrupted I suggest that you submit a save file to tech support forum so it can be properly looked at.

and saying 'trust my instincts' implies something that can ruin you and your opponents reputation. It would be wise to re-think your wording and be diplomatic. I for one would feel insulted by a blanket statement against my name with no proof and no specifics.

you should send your files in and clear things.

Sveint,

A word of advice. Accusing someone of cheating without even the smallest proof besides your "instinct" is a very, very rude thing to do. Not knowing what you base your "instinct" on I will tell you this much. The next time your "instinct" tell you something, keep it to yourself unless you have absolute proof.

Not sure how many games you have played, but the Russians that make it to winter always do a front wide attack.

Forts will help delay the December attacks an lower losses and increase his. This will slow the attacks in January and Febuary. Land means little during first blizzard.

If you destoryed allot of arm pts then you have the upper hand when 1.05 comes out.

This game has a steep learning curve for most poeple.

The German side is much harder to play then Russian as of 1.04. 1.05 will balance it out more.

Pockets are over rated. You will cause 3 million deaths with the standard 1st turn pockets an normal game play during 41. You will only hit 4 million if the Russian player makes errors or is fighting forward to try an save industry vs deep thrusts.

I checked out your turn 29 losses and OOB.

It looks like many of my games. The only differance is in all, but 1 of 12 games I was able to destory atleast 88 arm pts, which means I advanced allot faster then you in the south/north in most games.

So when your playing a good Russian player, Russian losses mean little. Because your just not going to get any large pockets other then the ones that are given to you on the first turn.

So the only thing you can do is advance as fast as possible towards production centers. Putting pressure on all three fronts.

Which is not an easy task vs a good Russian player.

Just to clear up: I don't accuse anyone of cheating. I have absolutely no proof of any such thing.

But I was getting fed up with the nagging emails, and could not understand how he could do so well, hence my post here was too crass. My mistake was to not quietly walk away from this game much earlier.

Well walking quietly away from WitE games will never be quiet given the magnitude of how much time it takes just to play 1 turn not to mention 40. If I was Jzardos I'd be upset too. I think you're better off playing other games, if you don't intent to finishing WitE campaigns at the first sign things are getting tough. Maybe just play smaller scenarios, that way if you decide to leave it won't be as bad for your opponent.

As for cheating, I've yet to read a post on how somebody could be cheating. I posted in this AAR that if you do suspect it, you need to inform the devs or testers ASAP how this person is cheating or send turn file so they can inspect it. Personally, I doubt very much there's any cheating going on. After playing games as the axis during blizzard and with the 1:1 maybe you feel all that is cheating against the axis, but it's just WAD. From reading the AAR I believe you just made some mistakes that your decent Soviet opponent took advantage of. Still no reason to quit. You should just put on your big boy pants and play out the tough parts of WitE for good experience and sportsmanship. That's my 2 cents.

Yeah, I just don't think one Pz Grp in the south is going to get it done. But, we all have choices to make, which is why I love this game. [8D]

Sveint,
Sounds like you gave the password for another player to continue the game. That was a gentlemen thing to do and gives you points in my book. [8D]

I know it's subjective as to what people consider fun in playing either side in WitE. Of course it's always fun to have the momentum in your favor (~winning). However, don't you think it would have been fun, in a challenging manner, to try and see how long you could fight off the Soviets in this game given the current conditions? Maybe it's just me, but I would think it might give an opportunity to work on you defensive tactics, like the Manstein backhand blow type stuff. Just food for thought. It is what you make of it.

Put it one way, I can see why he quit

Put it another way, I can see reasons to fight on, and time will tell if I'm correct or not.

I'm not expecting to win from here, but I want to see just how effective German play can be in '42, as I've not experienced it myself (apart from as a Soviet player)

Seems like a sore loser to me. How many times did he have to be asked for the password to be sent to you? Should have played out 42 at least. Surprising for a "Matrix Elite Guard" to pick up his marbles and run home like that.
My Top Matrix Games 1) CMO MP?? 2) WITP/AE 3) SOW 4) Combat Mission 5) Armor Brigade
