Morning men. Life so far:
1. Boss quit while I was on holiday, now doing his job and mine
2. DU flunked her first year of Sixth form college. Starting over, career change from Zoology to Nursing
3. Got a dog
4. DU turns 18 next weekend (and no, no pics for your pervs). She wants a tattoo.
5. Worked over night Friday night doing maintenance.
6. Dog crapped on my bed last night.
7. It's raining
8. Turns out DU is a Star Trek fan, much to wife's chagrin. Just about to start ST3, The Search for More Money.

try the FWD method of weight management. This allows you to drink copious amounts of Whiskey while watching the waistline. [:)]

What is it about this game that brings out "experts" with lots of letters behind their names, huge egos , and the social skills of a hyena? [:@]
erm...it's the only game out there that remotely comes close to its level of detail, scope and depth? i say cut him some slack...it's not easy being a super genious...the EQ level sometimes never seems to catch up with the IQ level, dig? more rum punch!

Depends......we of course know in Diehl's case that its not about the game at all....since in 10 years he's never owned or played it. he's just here to start arguments with anyone who doesn't agree with his USA rah rah viewpoint. I actually try to cut "Harry" some slack, annoyingly obnoxious as he gets with his criticisms and overlong signature advertising lofty educational credentials. He at least actually owns and plays the game. I've grown a thick skin over the years but sometimes one just has to vent back. He'd indicated often enough in the past they he could do a better job than GG or the devs so i challenged him to do so a few years back. He quoted a ridiculously impossible monetary figure for his "services" in building the CONSIM of course. Now apparantly he's finally "accepting" that it is a "game" with only a backhanded comment that as a "historian" he's disapointed etc etc. whatever.
I don't have an inside line to GG anymore than Harry does but i've worked on the game long enough to know that ultimately it "is" a game that generates alot of randoms with an overskin of specific device representations that as programmer Mike Wood once told me years ago, "gives the player the illusion of detailed control." I agree with him now that it is a beautiful system but one that does have to compromise for gamabilities sake.
Hell in just testing a month's (game wise) of John's "Babes" mod......mod'd more with my own experimental changes, i've seen a host of random results......PoW/Repulse escaping with no hits......shooting down 10 bombers in the process........a restart due to a last minute mod adjustment on my end produced a 3 torp hit on PoW alone no hits Repulse and only 6 planes shot down. Same token first attempt PH attack had ZERO BB's sunk (gee....i'm guessing no Allied fans will complain about THAT result [8|] ) while the restart produced 1 BB sunk.
Another example has defending P40's killing Ki-27's and A6M's at a 2 to 4:1 ratio over Clarke Field despite a 20 to 40 point exp gap. Yet the same Ki-27's in Burma are wiping the walls with the better experienced AVG P40 units. There's alot of random going on and players can only control so much. It shows in the end that alot of arguing about this or that exp rating and or results comes down not about the game itself but one's own biases and agendas.

Hi all,

Morning Leo old chap, have a nice day there.

How is it going Des?
How is the weather down under these days?
Leo "Apollo11"
I'm going well thanks Leo.
The weather is great down here, with an early spring. It went from snow, blizzards and sub-zero temperatures one week, to 10-15C afternoons and a spring thaw the next week.

Ah contrare...I haven't had any. But I am going to stop reading any more annoying posts. It's barely lunch time and I've already green-buttoned twice. I need to get in a much happier place, as I'm taking my spouse out somewhere nice for our 30th tonight. [:)]

Morning tithe...
Mike, it is good to hear that you have no damage from the storm. But it is sad about the deaths and destruction that some areas have suffered.
