Hello everyone,

Come on in take a seat. This is a GC scen 1 game. It has the usuall HRs, Options and settings. I would like for you all to Enlist and provide your advise and thoughts on the game. I am new rather inexperienced. My esteemed opponent Koniu kicked my arse in our Canal game. Now I am seeking PAYBACK. The first turn has been sent back to Emperor Koniu.

There will be no "naturally" hairy women aloud. Sorry Greyjoy, I'll let you watch my Kay Parker and Nina Heartly videos. No playing with fiddly bits either.

Greyjoy just kidding on the bush comment.  I do have to say check out Kay Parker.  Oh yea pardon the Greyjoyisms, I think we went to the same school.  Zulu don't take my advise either.  I'm just going to finger my way into things.   Solinvictus I plan on making more cheap ways to get people into this thread.  [8|]  Cheap and easy is my motto.
 
Now that the evil emperor is gone.  Lets get down to things.
 
First turn I sent the Enterprise TF up towards Wake to try and get the Wildcats off.  Maybe I'll get lucky and hit an invasion TF. Lexington TF is heading towards Tarawa to try and hit that invasion TF if it happens.  I want to bloody his nose some. 
 
Plans.  I'm going to roll with the blows and see where he leaves me an opening to strike. 
 
DEI
 I plan on moving as many DEI troops to Palemburg as possible.  I'm not going full bore for a fortress, because I don't think Koniu will give me enough time.  I want to buy time here.  Tankers will pull as much full out of the DEI as possible.  I plan on moving an AS or two to Brome and set up a sub base there for the Dutch subs.  Once things start to get hairy in the DEI proper, I will bring them back to the area and try to take some pot shots at his TFs.  I would like to try to build up Timor and surrounding islands to protect Oz.  But not for sure if I will be able to do that.  So Force Z and the soon to be built US TFs of Huston and Boise will patrol around the Java area.  Small CLs and DDs will patrol up by Malaya to raid whatever I can.  I want to get the RN bf off of Nt Borneo (with the 6in guns) to Palemburg. 
 
Malaya
Sir Robin to Singers.  I want to get the 2 Oz brigades out.  Lets see how that goes.  I've never had much luck with the British TT planes out of Singers.  So I will pull them back and train them for the day I can use them.  Fighters will fight only in mass if I can help it.
 
PI
Fall back to Clark and Bataan.  I will try and evac the bfs.  Once bfs are out or fighters get low I will evac the fighters.  Ships will try and make a run for it.
 
Burma
I don't know yet.  I haven't decided if I want to do a fighting withdraw or just withdraw when he gets close.  I think I will start buidling up the India, Burma line.
 
China
Fight and die.
 
I want to set up my MLR in CentPac from Suva, PP, Canton (will not fight hard for), Christmas Is.  Christmas will be a supply hub with small AKs and AKLs will send out fuel and suppys to other bases.  I will try and pick up Lark and the other small Coy units from around Rabual.  Pilot training will begin on turn 2.  I hate subs so I will prob go heavy on ASW and LowN.
 
Thats it for now.  Tom we will see how the 7th played out.

Before you make the mistake I did... Only ASW rating helps detecting and hitting subs. ( You know how hitting a sub with a bomb is so totally different from hitting other ships and boats? [8D] ) Thats nice in that only one skill is needed if you plan to have dedicated ASW air units.

Dec 7th came and the dastardly Japs attacked Manila. The KB sortied a full port strike, sinking 13 subs (2 old S boats), 1 AVP, and a Q-boat. A bunch of ships are still on fire in the harbour with many more damaged. It looks like the Japs are going to try landings at Vigan, Atimonan, and maybe Davo. Japs took Batan. KB looks like its going to sit beside Culion base and strike again tom. I lost 38 planes in total to his 1.

A midget sub got inside PH and Torp the Wee Vee. It will be out for 2 months. PH is surrounded by subs. Lot and Lots of them. The midget sub did take a hit from a PC.

He landed at Khota Bharu. He didn't attack. The Brits flew againist the fleet in the PM phase and hit nothing but 2 gold fish. A Dutch sub did put a TT into an AK.

China got hit by the air. Nothing really here.

I was not expecting him to hit Manila. Not complaining either. I will miss those subs later though. I do not know where the Mini KB is!!!! I'm still sticking with my inital plans that I listed earlier. I just have to do it with fewer subs.

Now that the game is Afoot. Do I send my remaining subs and pt boats after the KB? Do I form up ASW TFs at PH and send them out after all those subs?

Hmmm what to do what to do.

Turn sent.  I sent an ASW TF of one DD and 3 PCs from PH out into a hex with 4 subs.  Multi AC are on ASW patrol there.  I sent 3 subs out to seek the KB down.  Those commanders had high aggression rateings.  I didn't send the PTs due to 85% moonlight.  If he stays another turn I might try and send some cats on a night mission againist them.

PI
A few more ships sink due to damage on the 7th.  The man one was AV Langley.  2 AKLs are sunk by Kates trying to escape.  2 more bumped into CVL just south of Davo.  The CVL TF turned around and ran.  Airstrikes on Manila again mostly runway attacks.  There's a TF that just stopped at Vigan.  Looks like a landing tom.  I will sortie some P26s and B10 out after them tom.  Trying to air evac the BFs out of PI.  I have 2 SAGs to the south of Davo.  One is the CA Huston, CL Marblehead and 4 DDs the other is CL Boise and 4 DDs.  The Boise TF will head towards Ambon area while the Huston TF will stay around Jolo.  KB is blocking my escape route south with a SAG.  2 of the 2 British DDs escaping HK were sunk by a SAG.
 
Malaya
Bombings of several of the Northen bases.  Khota Bharu falls. All three British units retreated.  They will head south.  I am keeping small units in bases to prevent airborne assualts further south.  A sub sinks an AK leavinger Singers.
 
DEI
Airlifting troops is all.
 
China
Not much.  Air raids and moving troops around. 
 
PH
Still has a bunch of subs around it.  ASW TF showed up and all the subs moved to a different hex. 
 
20 Zeros were downed 4 Bettys
14 P40Es 13 P40Bs 7 P35s 5 Buff were shot down.
 
If I didn't mention other areas nothing happened at all.  Koniu will be gone till sat so I am taking my time with this turn.  I will have to think about what I want to do.  I have sent subs after the KB moonlight 65%.

nice shooting on the zeros. I am at January 15th '42 and my best pilot has three kills. I was slaughtered in the PI.

Just got off from work.  So I figured I'd stop by with some thoughts.  Thanks Zulu.  I'm worried about the lack of landings and sightings of Jap TFs.  Is he planning something big.  No TFs at Wake, Tarawa.  I see one possible TF at Vigan with a small SAG.  One amphib TF at N Borneo following that TF is a small SAG.  I will try and intercept it with 2 small TFs lead by CLs.  I'm standing down my fighters in PI morale is low.
 
I think I will try and reinforce Wake with a small Inf BN.  I might pull off the Wildcats and replace them with some Lancers or whatever I have at PH.
 
Wren Det was wiped out by a bombing raid also.

I am begining to think the Koniu has some big plans coming up soon.  What could they be?  He likes to hang back gather his forces then strike. 
 
My plans are still the same as before.  I'm going to try and get a BB TF out of PH.  It is going to follow and ASW TF consiting of 4 DDs.  I'm gathering my forces on the WC to ship out.  I'm going to send a marine rgt and marine CD unit to PP.  An army rgt with marine CD will go to Christmas Is.

Yes I'm pilot training.  Anything not in harms way is training.  Training in Escort, GB, NB, LowN, NS, ASW.  Yes setting up the TKs not to start sucking as much fuel as I can from DEI to Oz. I have evac'd once 4E group out.    you reminded me I need to send supplys to some of the outposts in DEI, that I am going to defend.  Thanks for reminding me Zulu.  I would like to get some oil out of DEI also. 
 
What reinforcements are you talking about? I am sending the 2 Indian brigades down towards Oz.  I would like to keep the Timor region in my hands.  I had expects to see Koniu already heading towards Tarkan and Ambon by now.  Maybe I'm paranoid. 
 
Keep adding your 2 cents Zulu its nice not to feel alone.

Second this ... Just a thought ....I pulled OIL instead of fuel ... and eventually moved it to Melborne/Sydney [Well not all of it because when the KB figured out what I was doing they objected quite strongly ] . Anyway 1 oil refines to 9 fuel and 1 supply although OZ only posesses 2 refineries ..at 35 per turn that refines to 630 fuel per day .. one less taker load from Abadan or LA per month .... anyway it denies this to the IJN player ... Oil is far more useful because you can transport the equivalanet of 9 times more "fuel" per volume [although you do have to refine it ] on a tanker .. something both sides lack ..

One thing happend in my game one turn 2 .. weather caused the Nells to miss their escort and I shot down 25 of them .. I paid the PP's to activiate these squadrons and eventually got them to PM .. where they shot down another 20 aircraft becaue the IJFB could not imagine such strong resistance... these opportunites might present themselves and it might be worth saving these guys if they build experinces like my pilots did ... 3 of my aces and 1 double ace joined trianing groups on the east coast and greatly accelerated training ..I am just saying stuff happends tha tyou can take advnatage of .. weather and IJA vs. IJN pilots is one of them ...

Set up tankers in Abadan qucikly and start moving fuel ... for a couple of months there is overflow until the Port/airfield builds up one more level ...My thought was to ship as much stuff to Kararchi as I could until the spoilage stopped in Janurary ... I also moved one TK with 6600 oil to Melborne .. better that then let it spoil .. I also started stocking fuel in CT from Abadan rather qucikly ... the Coy units move supply but I found that CT needs fuel ..

Your right Crackaces. I'm moving that also.  I do plan on buying out the PI fighters.  I just want to keep them around long enough to help out with forts and evac'ing the ships if I can.  I don't think Koniu will let me get the out.  I don't know how many trips I will be able to make with my tankers in DEI but I'm going to try untill it gets to hot.  I don't want to loose any tankers.  I'm already hiding the ships that will convert to AEs, and such.  I will use the ships that convert to APA in safe areas.  My carriers are combat ships they will move around looking for chances to hit the Japs but I will try and keep them back away from the fight as much as possible. 
 
I'm thinking of taking those 2 Indian brigades andputting them in Timor.  I want to beef that area up some maybe form a protective barrier around Darwin. I know if he wants it he can take it.  I will fight for Ambon and Kendri.  I'm airlifting Inf units from outlying bases to them. 
 
I'm thinking of buying a inf BN and putting it in there just for some extra fight.  I was wrong it was not a Lancer unit but a Mohawk unit.  But I plans for them now.
 
For me it's hard to form a long term plan this early.  I don't know where he will attack and what will happen.  He already messed with my by hitting Manila.  I'm kinda happy for that though.  Yea I know there old BBs but I plan on putting them to use.  I still have all those cats and fighters that I don't have to rebuild.  The only things that I can see are my supply hubs and stuff.

More airstrikes on Manila.  2 of the DDs go down along with another sub and some AKs.  KB is still hovering around Panay (sp).  There is a SAG with her.  Amphib landing at Aparri and Vigan.  Theres a small SAG patroling around Vigan.  Again moonlight is 57%, so i will hold off on PT strikes.  I stood down my figters this turn, morale was low.  There still under 50 so I will prob keep them on the ground for another day.  I bought out the other 4E bomber unit at Clark.  Troops are moving to Clark and Bataan.  I am still evac'ing the BFs out.  I don't see much hope for getting ships out of Manila.  The longer he keeps the KB around PI the better.  So I will just keep them there till the KB is gone or there gone. 
 
Malaya
More Airstrikes.  His airstrikes are deadly.  Had an AK and AKL sunk by subs just south of Singers.  One of the Dutch subs missed a BB and got rocked for it at Khota Bharu.  He will head back to port for repairs.  I don't see his land units moving yet.  I am going to try and get the 27th Aus brigade out.
 
Borneo
I see a small SAG and what I think are 2 amphib TFs.  I am sending 2 small CL lead TFs after them.
 
Ambon region
A CL lead SAG,  2 DD TF, and another TF that says nothing but CS consisting of 8 ships has entered the area.  Raiding partys?  Force Z will move into the region via the backdoor. 
 
China
Airstrikes and troops moving around.  I have both AVGs at Changsta (sp).  Hopefully get an ambush.
 
Tarawa
Lady Lex hit the amphib force.  One DD sunk the rest of the TF is mauled.  I have a lone CA in the area and will try and run down what is left of the TF.  Lady Lex will move south keeping area within range also.  The amphib force did unload its troops though.
 
Nauru falls
 
My SAG gets out of PH without any trouble.  I keep thinking that this game is further along than what it is.

For God sakes be careful! A sub got my Lady Lex while I was trying to recover planes for Wake Island .. the numebr of subs in this area are striking and he can manually swarm them at will ....they are deadly ..and your ASW will watch the torps hit while doing nothing ....
