In a nutshell, yes. You can load and play a PBEM from the last official patch using the latest beta.
ORIGINAL: Crackaces

ORIGINAL: PaxMondo

seems about 50% of the AAR's have updated to the beta ... think you've been answered.
ok ...is it backwards compatible?

Actually, I'm just reinstalling after a reformat- what was the last official patch, was it the one from the end of November? I seem to remember there being one in December but I'm guessing that was a beta.

You are not going to get a date. My PBEM partner and I have upgraded several times now with no issues and we are in April of '43.

You REALLY need to upgrade as there have been several major problems that have been fixed on both sides that adversely affect both sides. Why does your opponent not want to? It will NOT require a restart of the game. Trust me we have done it twice now and will do it again shortly.

These beta patches seem to work very nice...

Best fixes I have noticed
1.  Pull 10 or 5 pilots instead of one.
2. Stockpile resources, oil, fuel, or supply independant of each type at each base.
3.  BRING BACK DEAD UNITS!!!!
4.  tons of technical and tactical fixes to add realizim to the game experience--look at the list.
