I am not sure if this is a bug or simply a coincidence but the Komuch Fluvial Destroyer cannot be build anywhere. Maybe it could be in Saratov but I don't have sufficient loaylty ( it starts at some low-level).

Also, since I love those Cossacks stats I would need to ask, how hard is the penalty for those troops if they fight outside of there theather? I would specialized them as more elite-like unit unless they receive something like a 30% hit or something.

Cossacks? For now nothing. The ability isn't tied for now in FY with a area penalty, because the AI isn't aware of the penalty... I'm searching how to lower the penalty, but indeed the ability symbol is confusing.

I will look for Komuch Fluvial Destroyer.

Thanks[:)]

No bug for Komuch fluvial Destroyer. Working as intended in the official RUS after release. This unit may only be built in a harbour producing WSU. Komuch hasn't at Samara or Syzran such a location. Other cities are composing the Komuch recruit area, like Astrakahn, but only after been captured of course [;)]

New version released on my blog ( see my sig)

What's new?

-fixes the bug for Siberian American Tanks
- updates the Keke's files for weather ( thanks)
- controlling Tzaritsyn , Kazan, Perm, Saratov, Arzamas, Penza, Cheboksary, Tambov, Saransk, Samara. Each objective may earn 1 points per turn, with a probability of 10 and a max of 15 by objectives. These objectives will be marked with the Siberian flag on the map after turn 1:

Notes: this new system will give full bonus to Siberian players controlling for long these objectives, randomness being introduced to avoid gamey tactics and sudden rise in NM.

Changes in the rules booklet are in Green.

I was asking for the Cossacks since they have, if I am  correct, a better initiative/Discipline/(I forgot that one) then regular. It's not much but they come fully trained and those small bonus make them somewhat better fighter. Still, they are not Elite troops but to my experience, those stats affect the battle result more then it seem at first. Maybe considering the odds in RCW battles, this won't come out as strong as in BoAII or ROP or AACW but I am now willing to give it a try.

EDIT : Yet another question[:)]. Does the Poles goes at war with the Reds as soon as they liberate? Do yo uget a message as the Whites of it, as I never had with the Southern Whites if my memory is correct. I am asking since they mobilizaed (partially) in my game, which makes me think they are at war but the game never specified that to me. I know this is superficial and not really a problem, I am just asking out of curiosity.

Poland enters war idf Red attacks them, or if Poland declares war from January 19. The probability of Polish war declaration is higher when Reds are at war with Balts, and in 1920 too.

For now, Poland gets a part of her Armies in 1919 , the rest in 1920.

I got that from the manual you wrote, my question was more toward the notification toward the War as I see somehow troops moving out of Poland's territory ( Ukraine, Minsk) but not in Reds mainland. Maybe I just missed the report on the war Declaration if there's one[&:].  Yet again, I will make a savegame, zip toward the end of the year showing you my progress ( or regression[:'(]).

There seems to be some inconsistent text in the declare war on Balts option on the effect of not declaring war.

Also, there doesn't seem to be any cost to promising Balts independence.

Can the Reds promise independence on one turn, declare war on later turn?

I will check [:)]

The option costs 30 EPs. And yes, you may declare war as Red the turn after. Adding a delay would be possible, but I'm maybe wrongly inclined to consider Bolsheviks prone to break promises [:)] It may be used ( not by the AI, but in PBEM) as a feint. Now, I'm open to remarks on that [:)]

I will look at notification indeed for WH3.

Minsk isn't at start Polish, and if Poland units are moving, so the war between Poland and Reds has occured [:)]

What's the best way to report on text strings for events in the message box? Do you need save files, or do you have a way to search for them in the logs or event files? Better yet, is there a way for me to search for them that will be more helpful for fixing them?

No. Just a screen showing a message or the text itself. For fixing by yourself, you have to open the LocalStrings_RED in the Settings folder. It's a csv file, so you may work with Excel or Openoffice. Most of my strings are at the end of the file, but not all. The search function is very helpful, of course. And save as CSV, of course [:)]

Recognizing Finnish independence didn't seem to work, as no EPs nor money were spent. No message either. I haven't tried the option ever before. Save and backup1 attached. Cheers!

Not a day without a new version of Fatal Years

Post by Chilperic »

This new version fixes a bug in Finland join option for Siberian, adds to the bottom left of the load screen the mention “Fatal Years” and changes the gfx icon used to identify Siberian Whites objectives giving more VPs ( see the booklet), this latter being in use only in ew game.

Compatible with ongoing games.
Available from my blog ( see my sig)

I assume you'd rather have me report the line where the problem is, if I can find it, or post a screen shot, rather than modify your file.

Absolutely not [:)] If you want to do changes to the csv files, I will be glad to integrate them to FY [8D]

i've done a change lately in the last versions because the Southern Whites Armies weren't taken into account. I've added a line to raise the maximum number of Armies for Siberians after this unification ( I will have to change the csv file for°.

But i've not tested. And the command absorbfaction is new, so any bug report will be useful.

Anyway, it solves IMHO the Sib problem by giving to this faction a clear objective and a real reward for success [:)]
