Battle history

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Battle history

Post by springel »

I like the game system very much, but what I miss is the knowledge at the end of the game what I was exactly up against.

Fog of War is a very good thing of course, but with all the mis-identifications I miss the real story from the other side. It would also be nice to see the losses of the individual enemy units at the end, and the starting strength of the eliminated units.

Is the way to get around this problem to save some early game turns and surrender them at the end to study the enemy troops?

There are some definite improvements to the AAR reporting in the patch#2, but it still doesn't have as much information/ease of use as you want.

Dave, would it be possible/sufficient to show the 'actuals' at the game end, rather than merely improving the 'own side' intel to maximum... this would also add supply status?
I don't recall if it adds the enemy starting strengths though... it does (awkwardly) allow browsing of the enemy OOB, so end-state of dead-pile units can be checked, and the unit description/data checked - right now once it is dead there is only the name and time of disbandment available, and only by hunting the pile of crosses for the unit you want to check...

Not a bad idea but it will have to wait to the next game as there is a fair amount of work to implement that change.
