Air Recon and detection level

Post by Powloon »

Is there any benefit to using air recon on adjacent enemy units?

I'm guessing not as from what I understand the maximum DL from air recon is always 4 (if in a clear hex) and the mimimum DL for adjacent unit is 5. It just always seems to me that I am more successful on my attacks if I have reconed first (Not based on any hard evidence but just a feeling).

I don't think it matters. It is all about DL.

It's worth it when the adjacent unit isn't being spotted correctly. Good example to always watch out for is Soviet units which start the turn next to just Romanian ones. You'll often find that the Romanians aren't quite as keen on patrolling for info as maybe you'd want them to be.
