congratulations to you and your dazzeling bride Speedy!!! Nice honeymoon you have planned there, see the other side of the world in 120 days, cool. Could be an opportunity to show your wife what it means to be married to a military historian/wargamer. Visiting military history museums or places of military significance where ever you go.

As for our Honeymoon we're off to Aus, NZ and Fiji for 4 months which should be great [:)]

They say Fiji is for lovers but can also be for military historians(maybe for half a day). About an hour drive South of Nadi are the Momi Guns containing two 6 inch CD guns. http://www.fijitimes.com/story.aspx?id=81548 Per the article, there are some other sites but we only had time for Momi as we were on a dive trip and the main road was not to far away.

Australia has a multitude of museums. I've been to the RAAF Museum at Point Cook just south of Melbourne and the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Would highly recomend both. There was this cool hanger just North of Geelong where some guys were rebuilding a B-24 that served in the RAAF during WWII.

Ohh, should you get as far North as Brisbane, remember, you are only a short 3 hour flight from Henderson Field. My Wife and I only spent four days there as we were on a tighter timetable had to see Oz and Guadalcanal in only 2 weeks.

Have a great Honeymoon!!!

Hi guys and thanks,

Ignoring Terminus as per norm [;)]

Mark - The irony of this is I genuinely hadn't thought of us going to WW2 sites on our honeymoon! Maybe I could sneak one or 2 in. Fiji is out of the question as we're in a luxury 2 weeks all expenses paid for hotel chilling. Australia has more options though as we're travelling from Cairns to Adelaide at our own pace (buses mainly)

Fiji has some of the best diving on the planet, give it a try if your resort offers it. My Wife Unit MkI says Australia has lots of good wineries (if she likes wine) that maybe you offer to go to this winery and then we go to this museum. That was her plan. The wineries are mostly south especially in the Adelaide area.

If you go through Canberra you got to hit the Australian War Memorial. I thought it better than the Imperial War Museum in London. Plan on at least half a day.
