32ID is loading up as a floating reserve, escorted by 2 ex-breakwaters from Pearl. If not needed at PH or Broome they continue on to Wyndham.
The Broome invasion convoy sets off from its marshalling area.
Ahhh....THAT'S what the ex-breakwaters are doing at Perth! You start using expressions like "floating reserve" and some of the readers may mistakenly assume we know what we are doing. By ra way, there is another mobile breakwater about to arrive Perth in a day or two.
Meanwhile, the raids over Port Headland were particualrly effective and the runway damage is at 81%. this may be enough to shut down the CAP. Last turn a few fighters were destroyed on the ground. There are probably quite a few disabled airframes at Port Headland. I moved all the B-24's to Alice where they are ordered to conduct a night raid on Wyndham. 2 squadrons of P-38's were moved to Tennant Creek where the supply has accumulated to the point that drop tanks are available. Some of the B-17's from Geraldton moved to Marakesh to attack Broome while the remainder (save one squadron which is resting) will attack PH again. When the CAP is gone over PH, the mediums (B-25's, B-26 and even some RCAF Boelingbroke) now assembled at Marakesh will take over.
Invasions are fun. [:)]
SouPac: Attacks at Nadi are picking up steam. Half the infantry is resting as JJ is attrited. Landing at Norfolk Is. should go in today.

Ah..yes...rope. I had some of that stuff. I bet The Mayan put it in the drawer with the Allen wrenches, wherever those are.

Most likely she thought it belonged with that "cooking oil" that she relocated to the master suite. Check in back of your sock drawer.

Speaking of "going postal", I hope they don't close the Postal Service down because a letter carrier pretty much saved my life yesterday.
OK, I promise I will read the entire post, but I only got this far and just about lost my coffee! I know this one will be good! [:D]

Simon, when you are planning something like this what target do you have the 32 ID prepping for?

RE: Lost opportunities....
Everyone likes an underdog.
The big night raid on Wyndham does 2% runway damage and destroys 2 aircraft on the ground. The P-38's at Tennant refuse to fly. I will try it again tonight in hopes it will keep JJ from basing bombers there. If we spot bombers we will switch to daytime raids despite the cost.
We are well and truly spotted. Yorktown is unsuccessfully attacked by a LYB sub. I would say there is a 70% chance the KB will show up when we drop trou at the landing beaches. If they have spotted 1-3 carriers at the schwerpunkt they may think they will have a numerical advantage. I addition, they may have spotted Long Island which is supporting the landing of Norfolk Is. and will appear to be a fleet CV.
I reactivated another B-17 squadron at Geraldton which had been resting for a day. I moved one squadron of B-24's from Alice to help out over Broome.

I think it is well you termed it a "floating reserve" as I suspect the 29K LYBS's at Port Headland are not going to leap willingly into POWhood.

Concord is at Suva covering a transport TF. She is orderd to intercept LYB transports at Tanna.
No CD guns are discovered at Norfolk. It appears JJ has not repopulated the airfield. A BB will bombard the field tonight and the transports will hang around till the landing forces are fully ashore.

Santa Maria! Those little red squares with the black "X" are all over the place. We should do something about that.[:)]
I hope the survivors of Sian did not retreat into Panda Bear habitat or we are going to be in BIG trouble a number of NGO's.
Their LYB's are also bombing our LYB factories in Changsa. Could we ambush them with Hurricanes?

Admiral Lord Sprior;
Where are those annoying LYB vermin flying from? Did you run the turn or are you on the bus again? [:)]
My guess is Broome but they might even be able to reach the region of Exmouth from Timor?
For the readers, the Betty raid was preceded by two raids of Tojos (14 sorties total). 3 Tojos and 2 Wildcats were claimed.
Also USS Southard, part of the PH landing force escort, was hit by a Jap sub near Exmouth. I-122 was promplty sunk by the other escorts.
It would appear we have lost the element of Surprise (Su). As a matter of fact we my have misplaced the Lanthanides and the Noble Gases too.
