Need Advice on next Course of Action

Post by dc1962 »

Gents:

I have one turn before the mud kicks in and this is the tatical situation around Moscow. I am not sure if I should try to reduce this massive pocket around Moscow, or leave it and continue to push the Russians even further west before the mud grinds my offensive to a halt. I am inclided to try and kill as many trapped Russians this turn, but I am open to this wisdom of my "vitural" OKW staff. Ideas? John

I would kill what I can, those units way out and around might well be in a bit of trouble once the mud hits and supply gets longer than 100mp from the railheads. Sometimes in the mud a pocket that seems nice can get leaky if not a solid wall. At the very least use the last turn to sort out the C&C of the units there - a rainbow can be messy!

p.s. I hope you meant "push the Russians even farther east" As west is sort of where you came from!

Can you cause them to surrender late enough in 1941 that they don't free reincarnate? Now THAT is an "evil play technique".

If he waits till the snow then he gets this - of course, that runs the risk of the pocket being broken or slipped through. I like to chomp ASAP and let the cow chips fall where they may, but then again I am from Wyoming.
