Mod Request

Post by Magpius »

Could somebody please update the excellent boardgame graphics mod to be compatible with ATG please.
I had a look under the hood, and don't have the foggiest notion of where to begin on this.
Millions of folders and duplicate graphic files...
all very confusing.

Agent.

If you mean this one:

http://www.advancedtactics.org/upload2/80.jpg

... then I'd echo your request.

It's also possible that there is a mod out there incorporating the graphics mod.

The second one looks like AH's Tactics II. With hexes that is...
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

There are some old fashioned wargame terrain graphics at
http://www.jrcooper.com/gaming.htm#terrain_tiles
that do a good job of giving that boardgame effect when colored. They could be used in making a mod like that.

@Falkon,
I've used those graphics for previous map mods. They are wonderfully old school.
My last work was counter and map mods for Storm over the Pacific and the upcoming Time of Fury from Wastelands.
The point of the thread is/was, I find the graphic files for the units and map tiles confusing, hence the request to people better than me to have a go at it, or perhaps explain just what key files need altering to achieve the above examples. I still have the Tactics II files (somewhere), but they would not be ATG compatible. Ditto the mods on the community site. (I'm assuming).

For me too.

There's a lot more in there than there needs to be, which creates clutter, which creates confusion.

Has anyone stripped the file structure down to the minimum necessary?

The second one looks like AH's Tactics II.

I had (probably still have somewhere) a version of Avalon Hill's Third Reich with similar board graphics.
