Need download help/advice

Post by Sir More »

Hi, I've just yielded to the impulse to get back in TOAW, so I bought the download-only version of TOAW III. The problem is that I am in an extremely remote location (a U.S. Forest Service fire lookout station), and the data rate from my tethered cell phone sucks deeply. I can get up to a certain point in the download, then my connection drops. Once that happens, there seems to be no choice but to start over. Is there perhaps some way one can resume at the point where the download left off, using the data that has already been downloaded? Then I could download in "installments".

If you don't have this feature, I sure think you should.

You need to use a dedicated FTP program. It will do just what you described. "SmartFTP" is a free one. I don't have a link to it handy, but you can just google for it.

Edit: Here's the link:
