i really like the potential in these victory conditions, hopefully the beta testers give them a good work-out to help balance them out.

Although we dont want an enemy AI winning his Race conditions within 10 years there is absolutely no need for race victory conditions to be balanced.
Achievable yes but not balanced.

"Gameplay has been greatly expanded for each race wiith new race-specific events and victory conditions, a new system for borders and s"

What does "and s" imply?

"An expanded tech tree also awaits, with dedicated carriers, cutting lasers, rail guns, new planetary facilities and wonders, and much more (including a new hidden faction)!"

Can't wait for the expansion to see who is the new hidden faction.  Pre-order?  I am gladly to.

Yeah, the hidden faction got me excited too. My guess is some old race that's been hiding on the edges of galaxy and are now returning to see if Shakturis are no longer a problem. Or some odd, reclusive race that's only found by extensive exploration and research.

Couldn't find anything on the product page or with a quick browsing of this thread. I see that Legends requires the base DW game, but not the first expansion.

So, how does the first expansion come into play with this second one? Does Legends include the enhancements from the 1st exp, or are the new features exclusive? Will this make the 1st exp unnecessary?

Are those circle zones of control? The difference looks a bit large to be different long range scanners. The top and bottom colony of the minimap does not seem to have any, though. Also, only the very bottom green colony appears to have any such circle, but we would not see this for a foreign power anyways, would we? Maybe if allied/spied? It could make sense that planets needs some "power" have an influence zones.

Also, travel lines for the ships, it appears a whole lot civilian traffic is heading for the Teekan(?) colony up left.

Maybe a tech / building is involved here and the planets that don't show the "zone of control" don'thave it built yet.

It is hard to say of course, but things that could explain this apart from tech (tech seems cheap for this...).

The capital got a huge boost.
The zone size depends on parameters like population and gdp (and possibly trade volume?). And there is a cutoff meaning small colonies have no zone.

But this is not borders in the normal sense, only borders as zones around single colonies (which may of course overlap).

This is the main area we are still working on, so more details on this are still a week or two away.

No he's not, TJ. The cargobay is empty until beta testing is completed.

He's probably instructing his baby in warp-field theory.

Very nice, Erik.   Are you not able to show us any images of the new weapons?

Also, Ketarovs seem to have new special goverment. Wonder if there's other new goverments apart from that.

Well spotted, Corporate Nationalism is indeed a new government type. It's the only one in this expansion, but there may be others in the future.

What are the pictures of the aliens on the right, are they the only ones that can be assimilate by your race. I do not see the Shakturi.

Those are the playable races, all of which have their own unique events and victory conditions in the Legends expansion.

Interrogative... during gameplay, do you know the other races goals (race victory conditions) automatically, only know them by spying, or never know them until the end of the game?

Once you encounter them, you know their victory conditions and can see them on the victory conditions screen. We recommend that the unique victory conditions for each race be added onto the existing victory conditions, so that they contribute to but are not the entirety of the victory level.

Also nice to see the missile tech getting some love. Keep 'em coming! Can't wait...

There are quite a few new items on the tech tree. Good to see that someone noticed the additions to the missile branch. [8D]
