Operation Zitadelle: 5 - 26 July 1943

Historical Overview: Operation Zitadelle took place in the vicinity of the Kursk salient in July 1943. It was the final strategic offensive the Germans were able to mount in the east.

Scenario Overview:

Second Player. The Soviet player must avoid encirclement of his forces and prevent the capture of Kursk.

Scenario Length: 4 turns

Axis Admin Points per turn: 25
Soviet Admin Points per turn: 30

Version: Beta
Date: 14 May 2011

So far I've only played about a turn and a half as the German. The Soviets start attacking on their first turn, they've blown out a section of the front of the bulge, and are breaking into the Orel salient! This is gonna be a tough one for the Germans!

O.K. Nothing is scripted in this one; it's the AI on its own for both sides. I want this scenario to focus on the events dealing with the Kursk salient. Maybe this could be achieved by putting the Soviets "on the flanks" in static mode. What do you think?

I was thinking that at least have them wait a while, but given how short the scenario is static is a good idea, I'd also think about doing that for the guys at the front of the Kursk bulge, because they can break out with no problem.

There's something wrong with the deployment of forces. Look at here: tm.asp?m=2789369

This scenario is a direct snip from the stock 1943 Campaign Scenario initial set-up.

LAUGH!

Let me know when you are absolutely done with your 1943 Campaign Mod and I'll be happy to revise my Operation Zitadelle scenario to reflect your start locations.
