They study reports well so I think they'll know we are bingo on torps. It was quite obvious the Kates were bombing.

Kates took it the worst by far but there is a lot more torp pilots in the pools.

Even so, Kates can use 800kg GP, which have a good chance to penetrate on even a BB.

I think thats only range <= 7 and port attacks... Never seen B5Ns or G4Ms use the 800kg APs in a naval attack. Wish they would. [8D]

Correct, only port attacks. Which is why I might drop some 800lb leaflets on Marcus Island as I go past....assuming that the little rinky dink boat we saw there is still around.

Why/How do they only use them in port attack and not naval attack?

PS: and they are 800kg, not 800lb. BIG (2.2x) difference!!

I believe it was an attempt to simulate the converted BB shells that they used at Pearl Harbor. And you are right...wrong units. Old habits are hard to break.

So it is only available for roll on port attacks.
