Executing the 4.5 Upgrade

Post by Panzer Capta »

I downloaded the 4.5 upgrade to my Steel Panthers World at War file, and it is just sitting there waiting for my double-click to execute. Before i do, however, i just wanted to inquire if downloading directly to the SPWAW folder is a better choice than downloading to a "temporary" folder (or "My Documents" or "My Briefcase"), or does it simply not matter one way or the other.

I just download it in to a general download directory, then move it into the game directory, and it installs with no problems

The 4.5 installation routine actively seeks the "Matrix Games/Steel Panthers ... et al" directory.

Doesn't matter where you run the upgrade exe from. Just make sure you ARE installing the upgrade into the current SPW@W directory - you will be given this choice as the upgrade routine is running.

And if you did not install it in the default directory, beware of an extra "steel paanthers world at war" added to the path!
