Dixie's next AAR update should be a good read. He might be crying as he writes it though. Shame I can't read it! [:'(]
No-unfortunately he didn't go all wobbly and teary. Stiff upper lip and all that. Damnable British pluck! [;)][:@]

Hell, it was a US carrier. Lets see what happens when GBL does that to a UK carrier. [:D]

It's no less annoying than having one sunk by a submarine which could also happen. I dare say that should my little Hermes be sunk then the entire Allied war effort would grind to a halt whilst plans are re-evaluated to compensate for the loss of this most valuable warship [:(] RN carriers aren't going to be much cop until later on when Seafires and Corsairs arrive *I could be wrong though, my experience of Allied PBEM amounts to about 18 turns.

That would certainly be worse Des! Does not make me less tired though, which is where the grumpiness comes from. I had a couple of crappy nights sleep before my night shifts too, so have had an average of three and a half hours a day for six days. And I was already bollocksed before that!

Don't blame you there GBL for being a bit ratty, as I think I would be somewhat jaded after a week of that much sleep. One good thing about me being a cancer patient, is that I diffidently don't lack any sleep. As I seem to be either sleeping or napping, and if is wasn't for my PBEM games and treatment, I would probably be out all the time.

Sorry to hear the news, Per. She was a beautiful dog and her pups were little heavenly bundles.

WOW ! Thanks for posting that. I've loved Irving Townsend for ages for his productions of Miles Davis and John Hammond. Knew he was a writer, too, but never took the time to get into his stuff. Well, that will certainly change. Thank you CB.

On a lighter note, it's exceptionally gorgeous today: crisp, clear, low humidity, strong steady breeze. Big boat race this afternoon; nothing special, just everybody saying we can't waste this. Got seriously medieval on the shrubbery buttocks this morning. Life is good in Mobile Bay today.

Weather is surprisingly good here this weekend. New pooch is knackered after a couple of walks today.

Things would be excellent if I hadn't had to get up at 3am to greet DU at front door in best CPO voice.

Hey, at least you're not being eaten by a shark. [:'(]

Apparently it's not too bad to be eaten alive by a Shark, as it is very quick. But I have heard that it is very slow and painful to be eaten by something smaller like a Tadpole.

Morning tithe... It has stopped raining, and I can now see some blue sky up above the clouds. Happy, happy, joy, joy.

Joy for us, too. My boat couldn't go out today; too few folks, so Zane DQ'd. We're all sitting at the bar going 'so whadda we do now Batman?' and Zane says I think I'll fire up the bike and go for a ride. Anybody wanna come along?

One thing leads to another and the next thing ya know, I'm at Harley Davidson of Daphne. Bought a pristine 2007 Sportster 883. Beautiful metallic blue tank. Perfect bike for what I want. Somehow, that bike was right where it needed to be at just the right time. Wooo hooo !!!

My dad (long passed now) had polyps removed from his throat. For several months he had a great time telling people he had polywogs removed, then watching their expressions as they tried to image how you get tadpoles... [:D]
