An opinion.

Fans of the old Panzer General series rejoice for the release of Panzer Corps. Following in the footsteps of the popular SSI masterpiece and sharing with the General series the same level of engagement and strategic depth, Panzer Corps will keep an unmistakable "PG feeling" whilst improving and refining the gameplay and balance. Panzer Corps will feature 26 scenarios on 21 unique maps, covering most major battles of the European Theatre of World War II and including a few hypothetical 'what if' scenarios based on your actions. Now expanded with a full-war mega-campaign and the Afrika Corps and Allied Corps releases!

An opinion.

I have enjoyed playing this game since it was first released. I really enjoy the first 2/3 of the game but I find the end game a lot less enjoyable. The reason is that there is really only one way to succeed and that is an all Tiger II strategy for your armoured units. The OPFOR units are so powerful, that the other tank or AT units you can deploy don't stand much of chance. Also, the Tiger II is so powerful in all areas that you can achieve almost as good a result when attacking a city, etc. as using an engineer unit. In my opinion, a possible solution would be instituting a limit for the human player and the AI (which would need an advantage) in the number of "power" units that can be in the force mix. This would require the use of some of the other units that did make up the bulk of the forces used at the end of the war. Having a force limit on the number of the "power" units would also add a lot more strategy to the end game by having to use the kind of units that most commanders had.
I really like this game and my post is only an effort to make it a little more realistic in the end game. I'd love any other opinions about this and perhaps an even better idea.
Thanks.

Inevitably the early parts of the game had mroe testing than the later parts but this is somethign we are continually reviewing. We have a heated debate withint the team right now on this type of issue and for ways to improve it!

Mr. McNeil thank you for your response to my post. I have been very impressed with Slitherine's support for this game and it is good to know that my concern is under active review. I know that most of the forum traffic is on your site which I read every day, but I have never posted there. I use Matrix to post. It's nice to see that you also follow this forum which is not near as active.
Thanks again.
