Creature Contest - Void Gravi

Post by Fideach »

Void Gravi

These "creatures" started showing up after the first planet destroying weapons started being used. It is theorized that the sudden destruction of such large gravity bodies by highly energized discharge of weapons rips a temporary void in the fold of the dimensions that gravity is generated from. Allowing these creatures an entrance to escape into our dimensional level, however temporarily it is.

They usually go undetected after the destruction of a planet, due the amount of debris and the lack of ships in the area actively observing the death of the planetary body (as most are either dead by this time, or actively fleeing with all due haste from the planet destroying ships). The creatures make up give them a "Void" like appearance, being darker than dark among the stars. It is unknown rather or not these creatures can actively survive for extended periods in our dimension or if they naturally "fade" back to there place of origin or simply self-destruct from being so alien to laws of our universe.

They only way they are detected so far when they first enter our universe, is by gravity anomalies. As there presence distorts light around them, as well as making matter shift and move when they are near by. It may easier for most to consider there initial appearance and affects on things of our universe to be like that, of a small, mobile black hole.

Latest research show that those few that do seem to manage to survive in our universe, are often mistaken for minor random space rocks, or asteroids in a solar body. As matter clumps and forms over the skin of these creatures, drawn to them by there gravity like effect on there surroundings. Giving them a "Golem" like appearance. Even some suspicious reports of "gas" like version of these creatures.

When they encounter ships that are crewed, they seem to be drawn to the electromagnetic; "life' energy of the living creatures on those ships. The mere close proximity of these creatures cause damage by there gravity tidal force hitting ships like waves in reverse, ripping and pulling parts off the ships to there bodies. Pulling the ship against them, till either the creature is dead (which is a minor miracle in itself with current weapon technology), or the ship is crushed against the creatures body. Usually resulting in the death of not only the ship and its crew, but also of the creature as secondary explosions from the destruction of the ship and radiation release from the ship's power core destroy whatever the creature is truly made up of.

Rumors:
- These creatures may have been the reason why our ancestors never used the planet\star destroying weapons they were developing to the full extent that they could have in the past. The Void Gravi may have been one reason the Shakturi are invading other galaxies from there own, as they have no moral qualms in using such destructive weapons. So they may have more then just a "pest" problem with these creatures in there home galaxy.
- It is also rumored, that some of these creatures may have survived the destruction of ships they encounter, and be like living ships themselves now.
- Another rumor is some of our ancestors have tried to harvest these creatures to be used in weapons that use gravity as there source of destructive power as well as zero point energy sources.

*If I get the free time later, I will make some pictures of these creatures in there various forms.
