This or wait for Eastern Front?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

This or wait for Eastern Front?

Post by JiminyJickers »

Hi all,

I have seen mentioned the Eastern front game mentioned on here fairly often. Is that one due out soon?

I want to know if it is worth getting Battle for the Buldge or waiting for Ost Front? Given that the game is fairly pricey, I don't want to have to upgrade to the next version very soon.

Thanks,
JiminyJickers.

I got told that the east front game will be realased in ~ 2013.
So yes, buy BFTB if you like it, the HTTR (Market Garden) expansion will be out soon.
And if you are looking for something a bit cheaper (or just a unique scenario) then get COTA !

2013 for it, and an expansion coming out for BFTB, excellent. Sounds good to buy now then.

Thanks Wiggum.

2013!! We'll be lucky.

More like 2014 and I'd say 99% by 2015.

As for "upgrading" it's not really the case...buy if you enjoy or have an interest the theatre\battle....My interest in the East front far outweighs the West front and I have more or less zero interest in Africa. So I wouldn't buy an African theatre game.

I would agree.  If interested in this part of the war, buy now.  It will give you time to learn the system and like others said, likely a number of years away from the next version.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking, too. I'd be surprised if it was out in just 2 years.

So HttR is an expansion for BftB?
Interesting.

I've only heard they were working on an HttR version a la BtfB, yet we're all still waiting for a hot-fix/patch for the latter.

In fact, I have 3 Matrix games I'm awaiting patches for before I dive into any of them anytime soon.
