I'm finding that with 2 day turns- despite having 2 day turns set in the tracker properties files that Tracker is only loading the intel from the second turn. I'm using beta version q3 and tracker version 1.8 April 2011

Is there anything else that I should look at?

Thanks,

Daniel

Yeah, this was reported to me before and I can't seem to reproduce it. I tried a scenario with two-day turns and everything loaded fine for me.

At least now we know it's not just that I'm incompetent or crazy! [:D]

...
Firstly, copy the dll from the beta2 dir into the tracker dir.
If that doesn't work ...

Here are my pointers:
1. Install a fresh version of Tracker and configure the properties file or delete the DB.
2. Copy the dll from the beta2 dir into the new tracker dir.
3. Make sure you have done a windows update and check the version number of your C++ 2005 install on your computer. I made reference to that in an earlier post.
Install the x86 version.

4. Make sure you have Java 32 bit installed ver 6 not ver 7.

So Erstad did you manage to fix your tracker to read both days of reports? I'm thinking of trying a fresh install and re reading the database. What it could be is that we changed (in our PBEM) from 1 day to 2 day turns. Even though I updated the properties file it might still be unhappy with the change in number of days. Bit of a bugger because you lose all the sigint reports which is a good way of looking at your opponents intentions once you've got enough of them (at least if you get decent intel, e.g. allies).

You may still be able to manually read in the files using the Turn > Read text file... command. Let me know if that works.

Floyd
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Never got it to work. Sorry. I just live with half the archived intel. (although I always look at the full report in case there's a really juicy tidbit)

Okay, now I'm determined to fix this. Send me a few save files, matching intel files and the witptracker.properties file to witptracker@gmail.com.

I ran tracker using the saved file in 04 slot which had a scenario #6 saved game, I then deleted that saved file form WITPAE, and saved a scenarior #4 in slot 04, but the tracker still tries to read the scenario #6 file that is no longer save there, what can i do to have tracker correctly read the new saved file?

Hi xnavytc

Have you remembered to edit the witptracker.properties file and change the line
from SaveFile=[wpae004.pws]
to SaveFile=[wpae006.pws] ??

guess the question is worded wrong, the savefile in properties reads wpae004.pws, but the scenario i saved in the 04 slot in the game has been deleted and a different scenario has been saved in the 04 slot in game, but the tracker still wants to read the turn from the original scenario that was in the 04 slot even though that scenario has been deleted.

Aha..

Ok, first of all it is important to note that a specific Tracker database is intended for use with a particular scenario, not a particular save slot. If you wish to use the same save slot, but with a different scenario, then you are going to need to delete/backup the current trackerdb file and create a new one for use with the scenario you are using.

Keep in mind that a turn can only be loaded once, and also that if you load turn 3 before turn 2, then it is also too late to load turn 2. So I guess it would be possible to restart a specific scenario, but you will not be able to load the turns until you pass the last load point in the Database.....

I hope that is not too much yet still relevant information to aid you with your problem.

Great info bk19, thats what i didnt understand, the specific scenario for the tracker database and using the change savefile to use the tracker for a different scenario. Thanks that was a great help.

Hi

I have a problem with a new game I'm loading into Tracker. The first turn loads fine, database is created, Tracker works, except when I scroll down the Task Force list.

Then I get a series of messages, which begin by:

Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ArithmeticException: / by zero
at witptracker.TaskForce.GetETA(TaskForce.java:757)
at witptracker.TaskForcePanel$1.getValueAt(TaskForcePanel.java:152)

Any idea about what's happening?

Thanks in advance,
Francois
Looks like my problem ... will PM you my email so I can have a look at the save.

I'm having the same problem. All list work properly except for Task Force. Task Force doesn't always fail though.

As a wild guess, it could be a TF with zero fuel/endurance left. This suggested by the '/ by zero' and the 'GetETA'.

Hi Damian, I'm using Tracker V1.8, I tried to use tracker for the third turn and recieved the message in the image, the first two turns loaded fine. I'm using the beta released around October 10th for all three turns any thoughts on why this message is coming up? Thanks!!

This problem is related to ARD's movement due to a speed issue I didn't account for. The speed is less than the size of a hex for a whole days movement. Either don't look at the TF panel while you're moving the TF or accept the error for the mean time.

Sorry
