I'm sure many have done much better, but on normal setting, I destroyed 3,103 Soviet aircraft on the ground in the first turn, losing but 80. It brought up a question though. I noticed after the first air raids were complete, if I pressed the AI button again, a second round of attacks occurred, and indeed could do a total of 4 before nothing would happen. The question is, what is the downside, if any, of pushing it to the max with multi rounds? I got 400 additional destroyed on the second round.

I'm not aware of any "downside" to multiple rounds of air base attacks.  Go for it.

If you bomb airfields manually you can get over 5,000 destroyed...
