55th and 43rd Armies are now firmly behind the Oka-Tuskar line. 21st Army links up with the advanced elements of 19th Army, fleeing from the Dnepr battles, and with Southwestern Front. Typical of this stage of the battle is the odyssey of 61st Rifle Division, which, in stead of suffering encirclement and destruction, retreats before six attacks, only to escape with 6000 men.

19th and 32nd Armies were badly battered this week, but again, it looks like Flam was pursuing battle wins more than my units’ destruction. Most attacks were hasty, and only a handful of my units routed. Boldin’s 19th Army has won nearly as many battles as the 19 it’s lost and he has ripped a promotion to General-Polkovnik from the jaws of defeat. 32nd Army has lost about twice as many battles as it’s won, but that’s still pretty good considering it happened to be in the path of AGS’s main attack.

All the same, 19th Army will probably lose five divisions- if Flam encircles them- and it has transferred its stragglers to Southwestern Front’s 6th Army. The remaining five divisions are lucky to have survived.

Southwest
This is withdrawing, so far intact, to the Oskol via Kharkov. 37th Army takes on some more tank brigades and keeps digging in front of Kharkov.

Southern Front
16th Army has been kicked about a bit, suffering ten attacks this week. It won three of these, but miraculously, it is still able to throw a line together from the upper Orel river to the Samara.

Pe-2s go to Reserve Front.

Production
Ten armaments factories evacuate Stalino, one from Mariupol and seven from Tula.
KV1 factories at Sverdlovsk now stand at 78 damage.
