Xenonauts

Post by Hanal »

Several months ago a poster mentioned this game which is an attempt to be a successor to the original X Com. I preordered and have a fiddled a little bit with the builds and have to say that it is shaping up into a very nice game. Unfortunately they can't accept any more pe-orders because they have had their PayPal account assets frozen. You can read about the problem and get an idea what type money a developer uses by reading their notice. I think the problem is that if PayPal sees larger sums of money moving back and forth they think there might be some type of "money laundering" racket going on. I'm not saying that this is the situation here. but I know some Ebay sellers who had PayPal issues as well.

Anyway, even though you cannot pre-order right now, I wanted to remind everyone that this game is still out there and moving forward.

Hey thanks, it's looking nice, the more so since the XCOM successor will be a FPS. This one might catch the old XCom feeling once more. Just like Panzer Corps did.
Preordering is halted for the moment I see, but the price is 30 dollars... sooo including shipping and all that would make about 30-35€. Might consider it.

Stuff like them wanting to stop losing soldiers for random reason and not killed when exiting Skyranger kinda puts me off.

On the other hand, at least they aren't a part of the "X-Com had low resolution graphics, therefore it had bad graphics so we'll not care for graphics" crowd.

Looks great. UFO: ET 2 is not far around the corner as well. It's going back to earth and having both land and sea missions. They've also got Bman (creator of the best mod) on the dev team so you know the gameplay is going to awesome.

Shipping and handling? I'd be highly surprised if there is a retail version.

I'm sick of trying to report posts and give Spam as the reason and then it says error give valid reason. So I've given up trying.

I think if you type in only one word, such as "spam", the error message shows up. If you type it as a sentence, then it goes through. At least that's what I have encountered.
