You do realise this scenario finishes 2 April, 43 ... some of the longer repairs should be left to just sit there ...
AT LONG LAST!! I've been trying to find out the finish date. I am now @ 9-9-42. So it's about 200 days left. BB NC has 97 days left @ Normal. 59 days @ High but may have PAT in the red if I have a 2nd CA in the shipyard.. What are the disadvantages of doing that? I want to at least get my BB and CAs back.
Not having much luck cropping so far in Paint. I have Windows XP. Any tips? I'll try to edit it in My Pictures & see what happens.
I'm going to check Add Sig. box below & see what happens.
There is a repair manager in the game that will manage your shipyards for you. You can put more ships in the shipyard than it can handle - just not any ships that are larger than the shipyard can handle.
If there are more ships in the shipyard (and you do not override), the repair manager will work on them in a set order. Basically major combatants down to merchants. It will fix what it can, moving different ships "into the yards" when it can. Alternately, if there is unused yard capacity the repair manager will increase the priority of ships as it is able to best use the available yard capacity. You may notice that a single ship in a shipyard does not repair faster when you up the priority. That's because the repair manager is already doing that behind the scenes.
The whole thing was set up to run without you doing anything.
But you can use the priority options to control what ships get "first dibs" on repair capacity. For fastest repair of an important ship, put it into the shipyards all by itself and then up the priority to the highest level that can be handled. The screen will tell you. Then use any remaining capacity for smaller ships. Or, you can fill the yards and use "low" priority to designate ships that suck the hind teet.
To be specific. With a 50,000 shipyard you can not put any ships larger than 50,000 tons into the yards. But you can put multiple smaller ships in, even if their combined tonnage exceeds 50,000. The repair manager will sort it out - obeying your priority settings if possible.
