Morning Guys, well I am back from my hospital check-up.

I am deeply humbled by the posts of support from you chaps, and thank you all very much (even T, my grammar teacher). My Oncologist is very happy with my progress, the latest tests show that the tumor is still dormant, and that it is not producing any more nasties at all. He is so confident about my condition, that he does not want to see me till February next year.[8D]

But the Chemo injections, and other dugs have to continue at the high dose that I am taking them, so the down side is the side-effects will continue. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, as the side-effects are no-where near as bad as what the tumor was doing before I started treatment.[;)]

I did admit to my Specialist, that the only side-effect that really annoys me is the one that effects my eye-sight. The problem is that some days for up to six hours, I get blurred vision, and the lose the ability to focus my eyes. This I told him, means that I cannot do my E-mail operational wargame turns (AE-PBEM).[:(]

But the prognosis looks good, and I am going to be around for a few more years (PBEM-turns). So I am a lucky boy (touch wood), as I have dodged the bullet this time. I have a second go at life, so I'm going to make the most of it. [:)]

Well, it appears the end has happened for my company. It was a nice run. Maybe it is time for a good change for me.

Our bank put massive restrictions on us about four months ago. We couldn't get alternative investment in order to get product in. The end result of that is pretty obvious. It's been coming on for a while.

I have one really good lead that I hope is still open. I will be touching base with that lead tomorrow.

There will be one later today according to my boss, who accidentally let it slip. I've seen it coming for a while and have been doing some work on the matter. But....in this economy, only the Good Lord can guarantee a job.

You are so right. I've been stressing lately because, while i have experienced very good fortune in the last month.....finally getting promoted to full time and now having been given a major raise, the fact remained that i am still "contractual" (and no benefits). Add to that my company has a new VP of IT who is even now looking at the "metrics". I was told i "shouldn't" worry too much....but in the end noone really knows whats coming down the pipe. Worst case...i'm back on the street looking for transit jobs.

Its like my dad told me the other week......even "permanent" jobs arn't really that anymore. One minute your working.....next minute your laid off. There's no such thing as job security anymore, regardless of titles/classificaitons...unless your a fat politician that is.

I like how my friend from NYC put it...."anyone who isn't paranoid about their job these days is an idiot"


I hope your lead works out. Just curious.....what's your line of work again?

My god what have I missed while sleeping, the great tent living colonel is dead, Captured alive by his enemies, then quickly departed with a warning shot though the head. Now I wonder if us bankrupt democracy's will help the Rebels rebuild, as I don't think they have anything we need.
