AGC

The river is held so strongly that we might just have to bypass it to the north.

Vinnitsa pocket. Stronger Soviet forces to the north and south will now have to fall back or face encirclement.

Very heavy resistance. Panzer group moves north, closer to our supply lines.

We build rail through Vinnitsa. Panzer units are exhausted and will need rest and refit.

Das Reich defends the bridgehead in the south. Soviets fall back everywhere except in the north.

AGN

Absolutely insane defenses at Novgorod. I'm almost worried he'll go on the offensive here. I've never seen such strong units so early before.

By concentrating our infantry we manage to break through to the east.

Reinforcements are being sent to AGN when they arrive.

AGN/AGC, Smolensk

Rough going but at least supply lines are short. Also there are no prepared positions to the east as far as we can tell, not even in front of Moscow.

Once again the front lines are held in strength, with no prepared positions further east. The panzers take a rest (no buildup).

Resistance is much weaker this turn, perhaps most Soviet reinforcements are sent to the north. Instead of going for a Kiev pocket (not that many units there), we'll go east and northeast. The Soviets are strong in the south - these units could possibly be cut off and/or pushed into the Crimea.

Odessa is held in strength and will be bypassed.

I would not bypass Odessa, come the blizzard, it will be a major nightmare for you. Because the Russians will be attacking out of there and ripping up your rear area.

On our game you did your homework very well [:)] You kicked me out of Crimea on turn... 24... Hadn't you done that...

Turn 8, 8/7/1941

Oleg reacts the way I don't want him to - by packing units in tightly against all our fronts.
