Hi all,
When I was last in USA the speed limit was 55 mph... and I only drove cars there... [8D]

Nice John! [:)]
BTW, how fast can you legally drive such motorcycle on the roads / highways / freeways?
Are there any public / private tracks you can go and drive faster?
Hi Leo. Thanks, I'm seriously loving it.
Motorcycles here must obey the speed limit, same as any other vehicle. Max on our freeways is about 110 kph. 110kph might not seem bad for a car, but for an unprotected human, exposed to the elements, it's a real witch. It's very fatiguing and the margin for error becomes vanishingly small. Most riders actually keep it way under the limit on freeways and such. The whole point to riding a bike is enjoying the ride. So slower is gooder. And that would be me.
There are lots of private racing speedways over here where folks can get a major adrenaline fix, both on long straightaways in places that have reconditioned abandoned airfields, and on banked oval tracks. Them's the only places where one can get medieval legally. Them's also the places that have trauma units for when you lose it.
Wanna come over this side of the pond and go for a ride? Feel the thunder under your thighs? the wind in your hair? see the sunlight dappling through the trees? watch the land change around you? smell the jasmine and honeysuckle? go to the beach and be free of parking places? hang with Beaudy and his string of adoring coeds?
Ciao. John

Disgruntled Tithe... I just got rejected for a job that had 500 applicants. It's a good thing there's no economic crisis, or the job market might be bad.[:@]

Going to the doctor today to see how many more babies the wifey has cookin' again. Wish us luck! Matthew is probably going to be a big brother.
"How many more"? [:D] You expecting twins or triplets, Jeff? In any case, good luck!
Just one. The reason I said babies and not baby is the medicine my wife is one. Doubles the chances of having more than one....While I wouldn't have minded twins or triplets...its kind of nice knowing its just one. Thanks though.

Highway speed limits are funny things here. Some areas are ye olde 55 MPH. There are many highways-mostly rural that are 60 or 65. I think California maxes out around 65. Here, there are 70MPH highways through the suburbs. I think Montana has 75 MPH nominal highway speed limits, but these are loosely enforced with the reminder to 'use your judgement'. Sorry about that T. There's a lot of angst among new graduates over here for similar reasons as most jobs get overwhelmed with applications.
I feel very fortunate to have gotten an interview already. I started working on the situation a month ago, but it is still very much a gift from the good Lord. We may have to move eventually if it works out, but I'm hoping that it will be a 'migration' rather than a move.

I think as a kid going to Canada, you could drive as fast as you wanted to in Montana. Course' dad was boring enough to drive the "speed limit".
