I can't get WitP Tracker to run.
OS-Win64: Ihave downloaded NET Framework x86 and intalled 32 bit Java (jre6).
I'm quite frustrated at this point. Enclosed is screenie.
Can anyone hep?
Are you using the beta?

It looks like you are, so you need to delete all the trackerdb.* files and then copy the pwsdll.dll from the beta2 folder into the tracker folder and then give it another whirl.

Yes, I just this eve updated the Beta.
I did what you said and it worked! I found I somehow had the wrong .dll in the Tracker directory. Either I copied the wrong .dll or michaelm updated it. I may have had an older version in Tracker directory.
Thank you much. I've spent hours scratching at my gray hairs over this!

Hi folks,

i need some advices.

My WITP Tracker stopped working something like 1 year ago (witp time)... now i have a huge number of sightin reports and, not having tracker no more, i'm not able to organize the intel reports in a rational manner...

is there a solution? i know i can copy and past every single report txt file into a word file and then use the "search" function...but to copy and paste more than 300 txt files will take me weeks...

Is there a tool that can collect the old txt intelligence files? how do you that without tracker?
Or if i re-install tracker back again, will it read the old files? (if i remember well Tracker only works "from now on" and not for the past files...

Thanks in advance

You can read the sigint file for any loaded turn. If you load all of the old turns, you can load all of the old sigint.

Floyd
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Combat Reporter is what you need. It will read all the old files too if you still have them.

I tried that...it doesn't work (even with the latest java downloaded) on my laptop...which is where i'm actually playing the game.
I tried to move everything to my desktop...combat reporter works...and Tracker started working too... however combat reported reads my sigtin files but it doesn't organize them...so to say i cannot collect all the messages concerning a single enemy base...while Tracker does...but Tracker doesn't read my old intelligence txt files stored in the SAVE directory...it seems that you need to load every turn step by step immediately when you have completed it...and it also seems that it doesn't grab the old intel files that belonged to old turns not loaded at the right time...

You can go back and read in the sigint from previously loaded turns in WitPTracker. Use the "Read text file" command from the menu and select the file to load (unfortunately, done one at a time).

For Allies just take the last three numbers, so in this case you should be looking for TF 116. For Japan take the last three, but then add a digit in front. I forget what digit it is, but when you are playing Japan it will be obvious because they all begin with the same digit.

Japanese get the same leading digit 8. This digit seems to signal a Task Force Sequence number in the range 1 to 999 rather than separation of nationalities. This means in practice that Japan and the Allies could have a fleet 8001 in game at the same time.

TFs run from 14001 upwards. There is no separation in to an Allied or Japanese range.
The short TF number is the last 3 digits for both sides.

Reference to 8xxx is probably refering to the scenario startup which start at 8000+, but get relocated to 14000+ on start.

Maarten,

This information is available in WitP Tracker. See the image for an example of this.

Note that this screen will only show information for your own bases.

Hi Maarten,

Now that I look at this for the first time, it appears that there is no specific functionality to dump a csv file containing only the information shown in the sample screen I supplied above. I will delve a bit deeper into this for you and see if their is an alternative data dump that could be used.

Back in a bit.

Ok Maarten I have found a method to get the information that you are looking for. It will contain a bit more than necessary

See the included image. This shows the output generated by selecting the options in the overlayed 'Export to CSV' dialog box.
