I have the same idea, I know Burma will fall.  So I'm not putting much into it.  I have sent 2 B26 sqds to Burma along with what the British send.  I want to give him a taste of his own medicine with ground bombing.

Mid 42.  I am watching where he is and isn't.  Have to say right now Tarawa is looking good.  Nothing going on in this area.  I might make a play for Marcus it is currently unmaned.  Marcus would only be a hit and run op.  I would kinda like to keep some bases in the DEI or Timor.  I haven't seen anyone make a run up that way in an AAR yet.

even if not damaged?

Undamaged facilities do not consume any supplies. However, keeping their toggle to "repairs on" runs the risk that the enemy will damage them during the turn and as part of the end of turn housekeeping, supplies will be expended repairing 1 point of damage before you gain control of the process at the start of the planning stage next turn.

Thanks Alfred.

24th Jan

KB Indian Ocean side of Java
MKB SE of Rabaul

Quiet turn again beside KB is on the wrong side of Java.  For some reason his search planes didn't find a few of my convoys.  They are running away right now.

Burma
He is bombing some of my Inf units in open base hex's.  I am sending down the AVG and a Hurri sqd to LRCAP the base he's bombing.  He sweeps Rangoon but dosen't sweep the base he is bombing.  Hopefully I will hit his bombers tomorrow.

Yo! Joe Guess, Is he escorting his Nell/Betty strikes? You seem to be getting into his bombers nice and neat.

LOL  yes, but I have been staggering my CAP.  With his attack at Pburg, I had the B339's at 10,000ft and my Buffs at 20,000.  The Zeros went after my B339's and my Buffs got free shots at the bommbers.  The P40s got into unescorted bommbers.  time to go eat be on later.

I really really wish I could have, correction, would have thought out the air war in December-January. I just jumped into a PBEM after a couple of hundred turns against the stock AI which was easy to rupture. I have started to divide some Sqds to provide layered CAP in Burma, but he just sweeps sweeps sweeps, man it hurts. I have to rotate sdqns out, sometimes daily, for replacements.

KB Christmas IO

Today we fought in the air over Burma.  We lost 1 Buff and 4 hurris.  He lost 25 Sallys[X(], no Zeros though.

Christmas IO
We lost an xAK to the KB.

Wake
A 3 ship Jap TF is heading towards Wake.  I have 2 TFs unloading now, so my SAG is going to move in and cover the unloadings.

Kendri
There is a LYB TF (4 ships).  I have a SAG going in tonite and the Hermes is around Ambon waiting for any survivors.

China
I set up a fighter ambush, lets hope that it works.

Yea forgot to tell you all.  E.T. Nicholas shot down 4 Sallys on his first mission.  He was wounded during the battle.  The nurses at Rangoon are taking real good care of him.  50 more hurris will be in the operation around Rangoon soon.   So with these guys and what I have here now should give me the numbers to start taking on Koniu's Zero's.

I have 50 P40E's at Darwin.  I am thinking of moving them up into Java and start making a stand there in the air war.  I have 65 P40E's at Townsville.  2 more fighter sqds and 1 recon are on there way to Sydney.  I am waiting for all my Mohawks to enter the replacement que so I can start to buy out the P38's.  I am also slowly replaceing the green fighters in my sqds with slightly better ones (50s-60s).  I am holding back my best for the P38s.

DEI
Pburg might get up to 500 AV.  That will be nice.  It is at fort 2 with 20%, but has some runway damage to repair.  I just remembered I need to turn off the damage repair here.

Time to eat more later

KB around Christmas IO
MKB unknown

Pburg
DMS is sweeping the mines here.  I see 2 more ships heading to Pburg.  I am sending in some low lv Nav bombers to attack them.  It will take a few days to get any DD's to the area.

Pago Pago
He has moved his subs into PP's hex.  I have 3 DD's moveing here for ASW.  4 AM's are heading here for ASW purposes.

Rangoon
3 Hurri, 1 AVG (11 planes), 1 Buff (5 planes) are present in Rangoon.  They are on CAP today.  He has been sweeping with at most 12 Zeros.  I hope to take some of them down tomorrow.

Not much is going on, besides moving stuff around the Pacific AO.

P40s are heading to DEI.  I have decided to move them here for a short time.  Hes not escorting some of his strikes, I don't have enough fighters to guard all my bases.

Just me thinking out loud.  I haven't read an AAR that the allied opponent went thru DEI.  I am thinking of going that way.  I know it would be bloody, but its different.  But I still don't know which way I will move.  I think its still early he hasnt really moved into the Pacific or Burma.

I gave this much consideration in my AAR and Canoerebel commented. It is tough going no matter what you decide ... The mosquitos has me quite concerned from going that direction.

Heres Chengchow area. He can't push me out so he's flanking me and has won the battle. What he dosen't know is that he will have a rough fight for Sian and the other bases in that area.

As I wait for my next turn.

China
I have noticed that units in combat mode with eng in wooded hexs do build forts.  I will use that info.  Chinese units build forts quick in wooded terrain.  I will pull my units back from Chengchow to Sian and other bases in the area froming a layered defense.  I will set up my defensies up 2 or so hex's out from my bases along the roads.  I also want to be able to have a reserve for the area.  To me he seems to be a little timid and slow moving.  I have a good defensive line from Chengsha to Nanking.  I need to make some small changes in the following days.  But I think I am pretty solid.  I will stop most bases from building forts over 4, so I don't loose to much supply.  Open hex bases will build over lv 4.  I'm not planning on building many AFs up.  China won't have much of an AF.  If it dose get one, I can start to build them then.

The air war is what I am worried about.  Maybe once I get my Chinese guys trained and some better AC.

Burma
I just saw intel that he is prepping units for Rangoon.  At this moment, I can't contest his sweeps, and his ground bombings are destroying my units.  So I will try an pull them out of the open areas.  I need some units in the hex above Rangoon to keep him from flanking me.  Like I said before, I will do a fighting withdraw.  This is when I will turn the ground bombings againist him.  There has not been any new LCU's sent into Burma they are taking positions in India.

I am sending in supply's.  I am trying to get some stocked at most of the bases up north.

DEI
Its lost.  So LCUs will fight and die.  I will try and get out the Av Supp units and some air sqds.  I am hopeing that Pburg will fight awhile.  I have almost 500 AV here now with forts 2 at 78%.  I am sending in my sub minelayers to plant some more seeds of destruction in his path.  I move my B17 group to make a nite port attack on Singers today.  I hope they come thru for me.  Not much I can do in this area.  I am waiting on the Dutch to get there modern fighters.  The P40E's are being divereted away from DEI for now.  More on them later.

SoPac
I saw a 2 ship TF moveing above Suva, I have dispatched a CVTF to intercept them.  They are the closest combat TF I have.   He moved his subs into Pago Pago shallow water hex, tomorrow my DDs will be onstation performing ASW.

I loved that cartoon.  No not at all.  I could say add master or something like that but for what.  Everyone on the forum knows when Alfred types to sit down and read it intently.
