Is Game Over ?

Post by Richard III »

After complaining how overpowered Jerry is, I thought I`d try a game.....lottsa fun until T22...whereupon everything stopped, especialy the Pz`s.

Anyway, is this Game Over ? Didn`t come close the advances some of the better players show in their AAR`s. AGN got jammed up in the North and AGC got swamped by Rifle Brigades in in the center.

AGS just ran out of gas....

Thought & insights appreciated.

You mean no movement points, out of fuel ? Why did everything stopped ? I just wonder, because you shouldn't be far away from your railheads since it's turn 23 and your FBDs must be very close.

If you play only for fun (as I do), you might give it a try and see what happens during the blizzard and the summer 42 offensive.

Still, you should have advanced much much more [:)]

Yeah, the rifle brigade swarm is my main strategy as the '41 Soviets, there is not much the Germans can do about it that I have seen. Pelton would make it to Vladivostok in 6 weeks against it but i suck compared to him.

The game is over only if you want it to be. I'm at the same turn and got a little farther in the North and South, also bagged a few more Soviets. You can regroup during the winter and prepare for your next offensive. I would keep going to see if you can make it through the winter and see what shape you're in in the spring/summer of '42.

If you are good at defending and managing your loss ratios you may very well win in 1945 by keeping him out of Berlin. The one thing we do not know with 1.5 is the long term impacts of changes to loss ratios and how they impact the resiliency of the Axis army. You do n0t have as much "cushion" as some Axis players but its certainly not game over.

Well, in the privious games with same Ver #, at about the same turn, same area in AGS, same weather, same supply & command range I was able to "slip" 100 MP Pz`s deep through open enemy ZOC`s and use them the way we see in some of the AAR`s.

Not any more. in a new game, now at T 14, even after a 1 turn pause, they will not move deep through enemy ZOCs, spotted by Recon, in fact they wont move more the 6-8 hexs Back....and they are in Rail head supply. So now they are just heavy Inf. that will move 2 hexs forward, for me.[&:]

Very odd it works in 5 games, then stops.

The other issues, besides being a Bad Player, is that even though started the game with Locked HQ`s, at about T4, all the Army HQ rail building AI Bots returned thenselves to the Army HQ`s. Probably moved the Army HQ`s`s too far forward ?? BUT, also several of the Corps HQ`s are full of RR Building SU`s. Didn`t notice that soon enough, sent them to there AG`s , too late tho...I`m not sure the whole automated RR building deal is WAD.

At T 17 the #`s 2 & 3 FBD`s that I had teamed up around AGC HQ stopped working.....mud didn`t start untill T 18, their done until Nov. freeze I guess...

Bad employment of 11 Army...

Probably more, but that`s enough

Hmmm, what does that "rifle brigade swarm" exactly consist in?
