Do you have a save from the turn before they got to port? You could break off Yamato and try again with just her (or is this a PBM)?

that seems to be an anomoly. According to the manual a size 6 port should need 1148 nav support to rearm the main guns. You only have 570. I don't believe there is a tender in the game large enough to rearm those guns if you go by the manual. I would next try rearming with no tenders present at that port. That way you could see if the port was rearming more than it should.

I thought maybe the posted example was a result of augmentation (as in an ake or ae can help a port rearm even when the ake or ae is not large enough to rearm by itself and thus a port not large enough can rearm with the help of an ake or ae)

But no: AKEs and AEs cannot enhance or augment a port’s capability to rearm weapons [forum post by Don Bowen on 4/28/2010].

Perhaps it works the other way around then, with ports and nav support augmenting AE/AKE's.
