Is there a way to disband units?

Fans of the old Panzer General series rejoice for the release of Panzer Corps. Following in the footsteps of the popular SSI masterpiece and sharing with the General series the same level of engagement and strategic depth, Panzer Corps will keep an unmistakable "PG feeling" whilst improving and refining the gameplay and balance. Panzer Corps will feature 26 scenarios on 21 unique maps, covering most major battles of the European Theatre of World War II and including a few hypothetical 'what if' scenarios based on your actions. Now expanded with a full-war mega-campaign and the Afrika Corps and Allied Corps releases!

Use the hotkey: D for Disband, remember that you only get your prestige back when you do this in the deployment phase, if you do it it in battle, your prestige points will be lost.

Is there a way to disband units? In my current scenario of the 1939 DLC I ended up deliberately driving my already depleated 37mm AT gun up against a brick wall of Polish troops just so it could get destroyed and free up an extra core slot. Otherwise I really don't know what to do with the thing. I"ll probably buy an extra Ju-87 in its place. Much more useful.

Will the disbanded unit be put into the reserve list, or it is totally lost?

I am just starting the 1943 campaign and need to generate more prestige points so I can add more Tigers. Hopefully I can do this by disbanding some captured units that I've never used such as M-4 and a few T-41's. I found a thread that said you can use the hotkey to disband in the deployment phase, but so far I have not been successful.

I guessing that I am using the hotkey wrong. I've been pressing the Ctrl and D to disband. Is that correct? I'm pretty slow with computers and would appreciate any advice you can give.

Thanks for helping an old Viet Nam Cobra Pilot.

Welcome.[:)]
No ctrl, just press D for disband.

Thanks VPaulus that worked! Hope you have better luck than the original Field Marshall Von Paulus. When you got to the Stalingrad scenerio did you hold your position as order or did you break out this time? :--)

I would be a bad Commanding officer, I'm afraid. My loyalty would be always towards my men and not to my "superior officers". Although I believe in words like duty, honor and sacrifice.
I think nobody would like to be in his skin. Tricky situation.
