Nato symbols tidy up

Post by Cavalry Corp »

There are a few icons that need fixing like some AT units ( denoted as art) and recon units as armour etc in Jap OOB.

Not much but it all helps. There must be others as well...

The way the code works, the land units have broad categories with sub-categories beneath them.  Some unit types didn't really fit in the structure and had to be shoe horned in somewhere.  That's why convoys are classified as coastal defense units.

The icons are grouped the same way the code works.  That's why there are some blanks in the Button6 icons.

Bill, thanks for clarifying.  Understood that there are only so many choices.  Compromises have to be made.  Not a big deal to me ...

Thanks as well BUT there are Chinese units that use the AT symbol but there are Jap units in Mongolia that are AT that use the ART symbol - unless I am going mad.

The choice of icon is a combination of the unit type and suffix, IIRC.
It uses that to reference the location in the button6_x.bmp files (one for each nationality).

There are 2 sets of these. The original ones just have the unit type. Newer bigger files were added at sometime to cater for type and suffix. The original files were renamed with "_stock" in the file name.
The code only uses the button6_x.bmp ones, but caters for either the smaller or larger one.
