couple of dumb questions

Post by Javolenus »

Hi There,

Got a couple of dumb questions! Apologies in advance because I should know this stuff and it's probably in the manual, but anyway here goes:

1. Scenario design--supplies. What happens if you design a scenario where one side has no supply base? Can one side capture an enemy supply base and use that? Or can a supply base be added later, somehow?

2. Timeframe--can someone remind me, how long does each turn represent in real time? Is it 15 minutes? Sorry--can't remember!

Again, apologies for these, and thanks in advance for help.

Not sure about the first question - would think that if no supply base then at start of the game all units go into Limited Supply and at the next 0600 supply check they would go to No Supply. Also pretty sure that you're unable to capture an enemy supply base for your use. I *think* if you bring in non-parachute reinforcements a supply base is created at the entrance point. So you could use that, but I think it may only be for use by the reinforcements.

Second question a bit easier ... 1 turn = 2 hours [:)]

Hi and thanks for the quick response.

Mmm, OK. Basically I wanted to create a kind of 'Battle of Massawa 1941' type scenario, where a detached Allied force attacks the Axis town right off the march, and is then reinforced by a Brigade after, say, 12 hours. I wanted to create a scenario where a small but highly motivated Allied force meets a much larger, pretty demoralised, Axis force. And so I wanted to know how the 'supply base' and 'rabble' things worked. If, as you suggest, a supply base is created for the reinforcements, then maybe my scenario would work? Also, if most of the Axis units are 'rabble' then that should help offset the numerical imbalance? Thanks again!
