ahhhh...time off from work, the family upstairs doing holiday stuff, snow falling outside...and me in my basement, with scotch and other libations and fighting against a wave of russian armor in the snow.

I'm a teacher (retired Army officer) and I'm off from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3. Just opened my new Sarah Brightman (La Luna) and Andrea Bocelli (Sogno) CDs. Not much better than Christmas Day, my daughter playing IN THE HOUSE with her new scooter because it is sleeting outside, the wife making Christmas dinner (I usually do the cooking -- no joke -- but the wife steps in when there is REAL cooking to be done.), seven Cardinals, a squirrel, and various other birds including two red headed woodpeckers earlier, at the feeders, Bocelli on the CD player, SPWAW on the computer.

My 3yr old son is playing his new game on my older CPU, while I've got SPWAW fired up on mine. The snow actually settled a little today, but even though temp has never actually gotten out of the teens. That bottle sure sounds warm. I can smell the ham. The sound of armor is music to my ears. Merry Chrismas fellow gamers.

The presents are opened, the kids are playing, and the house is a mess. Life is good. Merry Christmas

I gust home from a very happy, very noisy, very boozy Christmas braai. My friends John and Nyepudzai have announced their engagement. Life is wonderful. I think I'll just go to bed. That's the trouble with wargames. They require thought.

I'm glad it's been a good one for all of you. I hope that is the case everywhere!

They shall grow not old
as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them nor the years condem
At the going down of the sun & in the morning
we will remember them.
