Time to buy?

Post by stormbringer3 »

I have been looking at this title on and off for months. Did the 1.03 patch fix all the withdrawal issues? Are the players happy with the state of the game? Finally, will there be any future patches or is this game pretty much "complete?"
Thanks for any opinions.

IMO, the game was pretty solid from the start, but Joe and other fans had them fix some minor things. If you like the older hex-based 2-D games, you can play this one forever. Lots of scenarios and easy-to-use editor. The AI is better than average, and maybe it will be part of the Christmas sale this year!

If its in the holiday sale, its mine. Interested to try the phase game play, i don't believe i own anything with that play style.

I'd agree with rosseau. 'As-is' it's a pretty good game for ease of play and challenge. The more you play the more you realise you need to use realistic tactics, e.g. good use of combined arms and manoeuvre, to do well. Of course there's a few things that could be improved but isn't that true in any game? Not sure if there's any plans to work on it further.
