Allied Sigint Problem

Post by Scott Helm »

I am playing PBEM as Japan (player 1). We are in late July 1942, playing build 1106i. The game was started under that build and we have not updated.

My opponent reported that about 2 game weeks ago the Allied Sigint started coming back blank. All other reports appear to be working correctly including the combat reports, allied operational report and japanese sigint. Prior to this, all reports had been working correctly.

I checked that the combat reports switch is set correctly and uninstalled the game and reinstalled it on my computer (player 1 computer). None of this has solved the problem. Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance.

My only thought is this: are you absolutely certain that your opponent is running the same version as you are?

If you post a save game a developer might be able to find an issue.

Or, you might try both upgrading to the latest Beta release and see if the issue goes away (in other words, is already fixed). You will both benefit from immense improvements including many, many bug fixes and interface improvements. Highly recommended.

witpqs,

Thanks for taking the time to think about this. What is the latest patch? Is it Beta or released to the public? Is it stable and does it create any issues in ongoing games?

The main reason I haven't upgraded is to avoid creating problems with the ongoing game.

Thanks.

I have to say that the development team has done a great job to keep the game updated.

Many handy new features. Many bug fixed. I personally keep updating the game every time a patch is released and 99% of the time without a problem. Only one time there was a pilot fatigue issue which was fixed right away.

Strongly recommend you to update the game. You'll love it.

Did your opponent view the combat reply before taking his turn, and did he enter the correct password?

Erkki,

Yes to the first. If you don't enter the correct password, how would you get the game file or 001 file to open at all?

Because the Allied player may skip the replay and instead just open the save file - and not get any SigInt reports. [:)]

As an Allied Player in PBEM I have had this problem very intermittently: no report. I've let it go and the next turn I would have a normal report.

The Sigint and the ops report are generated from the combat replay for the Allied player

If the Allied player does not enter the correct password for the combat replay, THERE IS NO ERROR MESSAGE. Instead the player WILL see the combat but NO REPORTS WILL BE GENERATED, and the Allied player will see a blank screen for both the ops report and the sigint report.

Been there, done that and got the teeshirt. More than once. [8|]

Pompack,

Thanks and understood. But my opponent is running the combat replay and getting an ops report, but not a sigint report.

Both! Look in the Tech Support sub-forum (which is where you made this thread) and see the "Patch 06..." thread. The latest patch is always at the end of the first post, which also contains the change log. I recommend that you monitor that thread on an ongoing basis to keep abreast of things.
