I would not belong to any battle that would have me as a member!
Is that Norma Jean?

RE: Gotta love the security!
Ms Monroe, your recall is impeccable.

Thanks LST. I had to go back to page 24 to see what was so entertaining and I found this below. [:D] BTW, send me an PM if I am starting to tell the same filler stories.

That one guy looks so much like Larry Bird it is uncanny. [:D]
Boy that's got me right. Finished my fourth pitcher today just now. And it wasn't beer. [:D]

I wouldn't worry about that. The standard size of drinking vessels is just one of those arbitrary societal norms.

Wasp is ready at Perth, Illustrious is one to days away at Geraldton. Yorktown is tied up at Geraldton and is 10 d away but could fight with a system damage of 9 only in 2 days perhaps.
We have about 250 operational fighters in Western oz and Alice.
If JJ persists in loitering 9 hexes off, they may be visited by P-38's and B-25's.

Got many subs around to swarm him with? If he keeps loitering it'll cost him sooner or later.

Cap'n: A question:
Have you considered a para assault on that dot hex to the SW of Port Hedland? The one that is connected by rail? Capturing it may be an opportunity for an air bridge into and out of PH. If nothing else, it may distract JJ from flying CAP over PH or may necessitate him earmarking additional troops to re-liberate it.
Do you have the transport aircraft and a small para assault unit that could be so moved in? Other LCUs with engineers to fly in get that a/f up to 1 quickly?
I assume that the dot hex of which I speak is 0/0 port (duh...)/airfield at this time?

I believe you refer to the lovely alpine village of Corruna Downs. We have considered such a move. For recon we sent a couple of B-26's on low level attack, the trailing plane with a Mk V recon net. This yielded a LYB left arm complete with unit ID on the tunic. Intel thinks there are about 2,000 SNLF troops there.

Here is why it is on the map. There was an RAAF airfield there in WWIIa where everyone wrote from top to bottom with the letters rotated 90 degrees clockwise to confuse any LYB spies

In WWIIc, the LYB garrison there was quite bored as the troops in Port Hedland were having all the fun. They managed to procure 36 new basketball balls from a certain Mr. Honda in exchange for 50 cases of salted sea urchin roe. Much fun was had by all but nobody ever learned how to dunk the ball.

RE: Gotta love the security!
And here I thought Corunna Downs was just another sloven mining colony where the Emperor sent malcontents, midgets, neverwasers and congressional jackasses on the "super-committee".

See...that there is a classic example of a "rush to judgement" and must be guarded against with great care. I suppose next thing you are going to tell us is that OJ was guilty.

This poor bastard actually got stationed there in WWIIa. I am not sure what infraction he committed against the King to earn him this distinction.
If you hurry, you might be able to procure the "Special Souvenir edition" for your library.

Well, it doesn't sound so bad. After all, it wasn't very far from a marble bar. There must have been lots of cool drinks and relaxing light jazz band nearby. Luxury.

Are these 1,999 bi-armed and 1 uni-armed Japanese warriors not represented on the map? Perhaps the map you posted cut off the telltale red troop symbol. [&:]ORIGINAL: Cap Mandrake

It is also possible that he railed these SNLF in to PH to help with the defense, thus leaving Corruna Downs unoccupied...
