Patch 2 Progress

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

And it's Sunday in Australia. Which reminds me... For you down under folks, America's Thanksgiving holiday is the 24th of November. The 25th is also a day off for most people, making it a 4-day weekend. A weekend made for digital deathmongering.

This has been a public service message. Please come to your own conclusions  [8D]

I hope this patch doesn't get lost in the shuffle if you know what I mean.

Hurrah!

EDIT: And thank you for the effort, of course [;)]. Next topic: what's the ETA for the HttR scenario conversion battle pack? [:D]

Hey Dave,   I got a hold of the patch and ran a couple scenarios...I think I found a couple of bugs.  Any chane you can put a hold on the Matrix release and do another round of patching/testing?

...giggle....just kidding (was that a lynch mob I saw forming...)

Really looking forward to this patch release.   When are we going to see a scenario list/description for the HttR pack (seems it may include more than just the original HttR scenarios)?
Kind Regards,

Harry

Just got up and finished breakfast and had to check....not yet? Oh what the heck....
The thing about it is this. This game is with doubt the best idea for a tactical war game to ever come out of the pipe. The problem is it had some serious issues on release. Just look at the list of fixes....every one of those was brought out by us playing the game....so this patch is the first that really addresses those and it is what, two years coming out...I think the Panther fans have been quite patient...

This is possibly the busiest week of the year for us, with the Panzer Corps demo release, the Holiday Sale, the Distant Worlds: Legends release and ongoing work on other releases for December, along with Thanksgiving. We hope we will be able to finish the update before Thanksgiving, but unfortunately there is no guarantee of that. Of our two Production staff, one was out sick part of last week and another is out sick today. We want to make you all happy, but please be patient. The update will be ready as soon as possible.

Thanks for the info, Erik. You have to do a lot of work on the updater, then, after Dave, and Panther have signed it off? I didn't realise. You can't just upload it, I mean? (Forgive my ignorance)

That's correct. We build the installer and together with Dave do the QA on the update installer (checking it on previous versions and on clean systems) before it is released to the public.

WITE issued yet another beta patch today in the members section and I've never heard mention of an installer. It must be a totally different animal. Everything thing Panther is involved with seems so complicated. I'm totally ignorant.

shoot both WITE and WITP have been doing numerous Beta patches. Both have installers and really get a lot more testing from the community this way.

At the same time the patch was released, I was posting a rant so I deleted it since it came out:) Teaches me not to be impatient:)
