Arg! Sacrilege.

Do that and what's next? USS Justin Bieber? HMS Lady Gaga?

So....any signs that rader is moving the KB? Do you know where the Japanese carriers are at the moment? I'm sensing a convergence of the force....

Scary thought, although I'm sure you'd find some willing sailors who'd ride HMS Lady Gaga.

Nope...KB isn't at Rabaul...nor at Truk...no joy in locating her by now... Maybe somehwere in the Mariannas or she's really moving to the DEI, which would be a pity...but i can't have to fear the KB forever Its air groups have clearly lost their most experienced crews and, altough it's still a mighty force, i think my 1000 aircraft strong carrier force is able to deal with her. My air groups are well experienced and most of the pilots have made through the Solomons air meat grinder in the last months...

However i don't wanna get my plans dictated by Rader no more. We'll advance in the Solomons. We'll start reducing Bouganville and then we'll land at Buka.
At the same time we'll get to Darwin and Bathrust and we'll estabilish a strong foothold in southern DEI.

We'll stick on the plan. No matter where the KB is

Start sending subs to Babeldoab and other large ports in the SRA to see what type of ASW response you get. That may help you identify where his fleet is at.

Don't get me wrong. I think it's time for you to attack. Sometime in 1944, preferably during the first half, you're going to face the KB. That's necessary. You want it to happen. You want to beat it down. From that point forward, you'll be able to advance pretty much when and where you wish to. Your progress will be deterimined more by your own logistics - lift capacity and supply - than enemy defenses. At that point, you'll be able to expedite your forward movement, finally closely on real estate that really means alot to rader.

So, bring on the titanic clashes of 1944!

A suggestion. Don't be afraid to advance in the face of KB in a theater where your own carriers are present. Remain more circumspect (how you like that one, Dan?) where you are trying to advance without CV cover.

Reek, I hope your new offensive efforts bear copious fruit. No need to use the scream and leap tactics of the Kzin. You have devised a plan that my work quite nicely to open a new front. It is not the plan I would have devised, but I admire your grim determination to carry it out and see where it leads. Good luck.

Also, Reek, about all those AC appearing at Rabaul??? Do you think that is where the majority of his AF recently based in Indian may have gone? I suspect that is the case. I also suspect he is likely to throw another roundhouse right at your head very soon. Be prepared to counter, then counter punch as hard and effectively as you can. Do you know what you'd like to hit if he does throw that punch and you counter it? You should.

If I am correct, then he probably did not send a great deal of additional air to the DEI. I hope that is so and that your landings there go well.

I am ever watchful of your every movement....

As far as i can tell, in northern Burma (up to Rangoon) he has 300 fighters, while 130 bombers are spotted at Kendari and Makassar... so yes, i think those 1500 in the Solomons are pretty much the 70% of his active LBA fighter units...

Whatever he wanna do with those fighters...i'm ready...and my 200 4Es at PM are ready to smash Rabaul AF if he dares to come and fight.

I don't think he's sending them anymore on the offensive...i'd like to...but i think he has gotten so many bloody noses that he now has understood that there is no point in 1944 in trying an air offensive against my bases.
Anyway i'm ready. I have 300 top fighters at PM and 450 in the Solomons...i can stand a fight!

...turns will be slowed again...Rader is on Thanksgiving Vacations...probably we'll be able to make just a couple of turns untill sunday[:o][>:][>:][>:][>:]

Ahhhh, Crib, Star Fleet Battles...never got into it, but bumped into the Kzin in Ringworld (Larry Niven). Oh, scratch that....one does not "bump" into a Kzin and live to tell about it generally. Let's say I "observed" the Kzin from a very safe distance in Ringworld:).

Not good to be like the Kzin in warfare, Reek. They were too impetious, never planning carefully and were defeated time after time by the humans. However, 7', intelligent cat beings with very sharp teeth, long claws and a prickly prideful (think cats) personalities are sometimes good allies to have . Sometimes.

P-r-i-c-k-i-l-y is considered a bad word here? Again, the lack of vocabulary in current times is appalling. Whatever shall become of us:).
