Campaign Problem

I am a long time Talonsoft fan and recently bought JTCS. After a successful mission in a campaign game I receive the kind words from the general but instead of going to a picture of an award ceremony and notice of promotion (when earned), the welcome page appears, the screen goes blank and freezes. This problem occurs both in East Front and West Front (and I assume Rising Sun). Can this be fixed? Thank you.

I have had this problem, try reloading the game, continue campaign. My K'talan mod at least in a WF DCG does this EVERY scenario, I just restart and continue. I think it is missing a file, just haven't had time to track it down.

It is cumulative, so you only need to download and install the 1.04 UPDATE. Keep your password handy, you'll need it to install the UPDATE.

Here's my problem: the PC on which I have John Tiller's game is not connected to the internet. Will I be able to download 1.04 onto another PC then put it onto a CD and then finally put it into the PC where the game is? Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you can download the UPDATE onto a thumbdrive and then install it from there. Just unzip the UPDATE and double click the EXE.

Jason, Thank you for the advice. I'll get a friend to help me out and hope we can get it done. My skills are lacking in this area. I have another question for you. I see that Matrix Games has many games that deal with WWII armor battles. I have been playing Talsonsoft's East & West Fronts for over 14 years and it could be time to branch out. Can you recommend a game that is similar in style and format to East Front , tries to be historically correct, and deals with WWII armor especially the Russian/German front? Just reinstall the UPDATE again with your serial number. When the executable runs, it will ask you to enter the serial number again.

Did you restart the campaign and not continue one you started under an older UPDATE?

Jad, just restart the game, and resume campaign, it will function normally. For some reason this seems to happen with countries normally not picked for DCG's. Are you playing as German, or someone else? This problem really needs to be figured out for all us DCG guys!! It happens every scenario in a campaign with the K'talan, I just figured it was because it was slot #12 (Belgium), which wasn't in any of the countries supported for DCG like German, American, British, French, etc. It is at the promotion/medal awards part where it does it though.

Jason, No I did not. After your message, I deleted the campaign that had been open when UPDATE 1.04 was added. I then started a new campaign ( East Front as German). At the end of the first mission the same problem happened. Do you have a plan B? Thanks.
