Ship launched rockets

Post by mgoldstein »

I'm looking at simulating Soviet G-5 torpedo boats, some of which were converted to fire 82mm or 132mm rockets.

Does the game have a mechanism for handling naval rocket fire? If so, does it work for surface combat, bombardment, or both?

Well im guessing that you could just create a naval gun, name it 82mm naval rocket (or something) and then just set its accuracy really low. This would simulate the fact that it was a rocket of the WWII era (which where not real accurate anyway) but limit thier effectiveness in the surface combat role whereas when your shooting against a land mass your bound to hit something.

If you haven't already dive into the editor and look up the American Rocket bombardment LSI(R)'s. That might lead you in the right direction.

It will lead you in the right direction. Specifically, look at the rocket devices they use.

Well i just looked at the LSI(R) and they show that thier using a 5.0in Ground Attack Rocket, Device number 1757. So maybe just copy, & paste into an empty line and then just change the device data to 82mm & 132mm Russian Rocket specs. That i think would be the simplest route to take.
