UI issues

Post by onomastikon »

Hello,

just purchased 2526 + supernova (from iceberg, I'm in Europe), installed both with no problem and updated to 1.04.

My main problems is that most of the text messages in-game do not fit in the windows they are made for. This is true for the text in the "tutorial", for descriptions of items when you right-click on them, and for messages from aliens in diplomacy screens.
Additionally, the colony screen has its contents (the things in the boxes, such as militia, missile platforms, etc...) set so transparant that I cannot see what they represent. I can see no way to change any settings regarding this. Any tips?

An additonal discouragement for me, but it is not a tech issue per se: The UI will not let me use the mouse wheel for scrolling down screens in-game; hitting the "esc"-button will not close screens (I must click the "ok" button of each screen manually). Am I the only one who finds this incredibly counter-intuitive (seems so standard Windows-syntax)? Are there any hopes of improving this in a patch?

thank you very much for your time

You play the english edition?

What screen resolution do you have?

As you have the Iceberg edition, i recommend that you post in the Ntronium forum which is frequentely checked by the Dev: registration thread Ntronium Forum

You could change the planet background to the one from the basic game (which is just black) by replacing the planet backgrounds from Supernova with the ones from the basic game (thus they would all just be black).

Thank you Anguille. (It was you on the Elemental Forums which actually got me to get off the fence and to purchase the game!) Sorry, but I am experiencing great disapointment at the moment, having played about 20 minutes before finding myself shaking my head in confusion too often. I'd like to give it more of a chance!

Yes I am playing the English original (imported from the UK). I am playing in default resolution 1920x1080.

Are you saying that the American distribution version does NOT have the issues I am experiencing (no basic Windows-syntax such as scrolling or closing screens with escape, text descriptions too big for their window) and that it is ONLY the Iceberg version?
thank you.

Sorry to hear it. I hope you'll have fun with the game once you get the UI. I did make suggestions for scrolling but it wasn't implemented, i don't know why. Didn't make any comments on closing screen though. Never had problems with text but it may due to the screen resolution you have but we'll see if Neutron has a solution for you.

My question was related to the language.
