Bought FOG about 45min ago. It's been downloading for about 1/2 hr. I have high spd connection. Is this a normal download time?

It really depends on the connections between you and the server. It's like a long chain. The server is very fast and if your connection is fast then some link in the chain must be slow. It's almost impossible to know and fix so the only thing you can do is try again and each time you try it will use a different set of links to make the connection to the server and you might find it better.
