Experienced German opponent sought

Post by heliodorus04 »

I want to play Soviets in 1.05. I've won 5 or 6 games as Soviet in 1.04, which probably doesn't mean much at this point, but I'm very versed in the game mechanics, and I will need a German opponent who knows he (or she) is a competent player in that role.

Willing to discuss house rules if desired.

I will be running an AAR on this game, and you will have to stay completely out of it. I am open to a PBEM game if it's someone I know, or a server game if I don't know my opponent well enough.

I don't play super fast, though it's easier as Soviet to play fast. I typically do a turn every other day.

Post in this space if interested.

I could take you up on that. Although I end up as the bad guys again, my latest Axis venture ended early, though it was promising (AAR vs Oleg).

No house rules necessary, but I have a strong preference for server over email.

I would need some time on the first few turns (especially turn 1), after that I seem to have found my rhythm and can do turns fairly quickly. I would probably do one of my simplistic AARs too, just to have a record of the game.

Sounds great, Sveint.

I'm in a game as Axis started under 1.05.18 (and I benefitted heavily from the railroad bug, which you will not).

Would you be interested in random weather or historical (I will go with either)?

Check your PMs, as well, for my e-mail, and exchange yours if you'd like some of my organizational files. I understand completely about needing the extra time for turn 1. Indeed, if you make any mistake you deem too critical (like clicking on the wrong place with an entire stack of panzer divisions), I have a standing rule that the Axis can always abort and re-start on Turn 1. It's their nightmare anyway. And to be honest, no pace is too slow for me. I just don't want to promise someone who needs 5-7 turns a week, because I can't do that.
