Both sides must be suffering. Several reduced squads make a concerted effort to oust a 12.7mm DSHK from a house strategically positioned with a clearing and a forest on every side--able to cover the roadway and the surrounding buildings. The machinegun crew is scared, some killed, but not ousted. A few stray rounds are also sent over to the 50mm Mortar in the area, to little effect.

Foolish, pre-emptive advances were my bane in this battle. Now I'm struggling to mount even a hasty defense. I have a few small surprises, but not much. My soldiers are no match for yours.

Better do it quick--that Sherman and some infantry took out one of your M-cycles. There was also a relatively favourable firefight in your rear. That is, I caused some casualties AND my retreat+smoke was directed the right way.
