Retreat,Rout, and Shattered

Post by HITMAN202 »

Difference between Rout/Shatter and benefits ???? Benefits ??? Puzzled that stacks can retreat into a empty ZOC and that when surrounded defeated units can jump like a kangaroo and rout elsewhere, rather than be destroyed (as it should seem.)
WITE is a good addiction with no cure.

A routed unit is disorganized and can't attack launch a deliberate attack when that player's turn comes up.  The routing also increases retreat losses and decreases morale by an extra point.

A shattered unit is dead; damaged elements are captured, undamaged elements may be captured depending on various factors, Soviet infantry/cavalry elements may become partisans, surviving elements go back to the pool.  See 15.9.2 of the manual.
