redownload of games

Post by linger »

Hi,

Is Matrix Games good about letting you redownload your games after the initial
download links have expired? Is there a limit on when they will not reactivate your
download for you (like one year, etc.)?

Thanks.

If you have registered your games you can re-download them from the Members area very easily if you purchased your product after November 2010. Just go to the members area and on the right click the My Orders link and it will open a page with your links. You can also get your serial numbers there too. If they were from before that I think you have to contact Digital River and provide some info.

Edit: It must last longer than a year because I bought DW a little more than a year ago and I am provided a link still.

Ah ok. I am actually wondering about my download of Distant Worlds as well. I have it ordered from Sept 9th, 2010 but the download link isn't active and unfortunately I can't fill out the Digital River form because the first option needs a password (I never created one on Digital River) and the second option requires last 5 digits of credit card (I used a virtual card number). I haven't heard back from Matrix Games support either )=

Hi Linger,

Yes, it is absolutely possible to get a new download link. For new purchases, there is no limit at all on how many times you can re-download, though the links themselves expire after a couple of weeks and new ones need to be sent. If you purchase while logged into your site account, your game is automatically registered and you can get a new download link any time through our Members Club where we have an automated process for that.

For purchases from our old store, all you need to do is contact us with as much information as you have so that we can find the original order and send you a new link. We are very happy to do that. Sending us a request through our Help Desk is the best way to ask for a new download link if you can't find one through www.findmyorder.com or through our Members' Club. Please see here:

They usually send you the links when you send a ticket.

As for Plimus, the key is to buy while logged on to your member account. Then a permanent download request link will placed in your My Orders page.  I have learned about this feature the hard way.  Too bad there's no way to populate this page with puchases done while not logged-on.

Primus requests the email addy when you purchased a game...if you no longer have that email, does that create a problem?

It is a bit fiddly - it means we have to update the e-mail in the system but its not impossible.
