Conflict of Heroes is now scheduled for the first quarter of 2012. It's coming along well, but was not quite ready in time for a pre-Christmas release.

PM me...

Joke.

Seriously though I enjoy testing it...I think I can say (without breaking the NDA) that it's not a straight boardgame to PC conversion - though the essence of the game is most definitely there - you will know you are playing Conflict of Heroes if you've played the boardgame.

It's coming along - looking rather sleek.

When a forum goes up is when more can be posted and discussed I guess - with AARs and such.

What is Conflict of Heroes JD? Is it like Panzer Grenadier or Squad Battles?

Sorry lads - hands are kind of tied at the mo.

I guess if you know anything about the boardgame then you'd know that it's individual units scale (tanks, arty etc) and squad sized units (rifle squad, smg squad etc).

If I get my finger out and get back to testing it'll be released sooner rather than later [:D]

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to give some info on it as it is turning out a cool game - but NDA means no real info can come out yet. Suffice to say it's coming along nicely, has a fair few variable options to vary gameplay and a fair few firefights.

That's all folks.

Hmm it not being actaully like the boardgame is a worry. My expectations have now decreased massively.

Hi Wodin,

It's a lot like the board game, with some concessions to the computer game format. The only differences were discussed and agreed between Uwe Eickert and the lead developer.

That will happen soon actually. Hopefully before the end of the year, if not then very early next year.

OK. I suppose where talking animations and sound effects here. I can live with that obviously. Now if where talking about adding things to make use of a PC like for instance each squad has individual soldiers and weapons and individual soldier losses can be incured similar to Squad battles then thats great news. A more advanced Squad Battles is what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed.

Is this an in house Matrix title or is there an Indy developer making it?

More info will be coming soon, but this is being done by a well respected and well known development team with top selling games in the Matrix Online Store.

Excellent. I was just trying to see if I could get squeeze some info out of you. Should have known better. I wonder if it's the WW2 game that the Forge of Freedom team are working on (I'm sure I read something over there). Or I rememeber Lordz saying they are busy thats why the WW1 game is being delayed.

Hmm...I need Poirot.

No need.

Let me guess, you simplified the turn sequence to make it pure i-go-you-go instead of giving the non-phasing player a chance to interrupt actively. Maybe interruption is automatic like in other conventional computer games.

Or even better made it WEGO. That would fit in more to the board game.
